Back in October, after the Las Vegas Shooting, New York Times columnist Bret Stephens argued that the Second Amendment should be repealed. Since Wednesday's shooting in South Florida, Stephens' OpEd has re-circulated across social media, which eventually led to another OpEd pushing for repealing the Second Amendment.
Then there are the endless liberal errors of fact. There is no “gun-show loophole” per se; it’s a private-sale loophole, in other words the right to sell your own stuff. The civilian AR-15 is not a true “assault rifle,” and banning such rifles would have little effect on the overall murder rate, since most homicides are committed with handguns. It’s not true that 40 percent of gun owners buy without a background check; the real number is closer to one-fifth.

Let’s repeal the First Amendment and shut down the NYT. Then we can talk about the Second Amendment. And the answer will still be: Come and take them.
We could repeal the 1st and 4th ones too, in that case.

Why would this surprise anyone? NYT columnists are as a whole the most liberal pukes outside of San Francisco. This is NOT news.

Get rid of the 2nd then the 4th will have to go. When they make millions of legal owners criminals overnight demanding guns turned over, there will be a majority that will not comply, requiring house to house illegal searches. Wonder how that will turn out in armed gang strongholds like Chicago et al?
I’m against repealing the 2nd Amendment, but repealing it wouldn’t do a freaking thing. The 2nd Amendment only confirms the presumptions of rights in the Constitution. Our right to bear arms exists and is constitutionally protected with or without the 2nd Amendment.
