Watergate reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein say President Trump could be on the path to his own "Saturday Night Massacre," citing reports that he already wants to fire the special counsel probing his administration and campaign.

"We’re here again. A powerful and determined president is squaring off against an independent investigator operating inside the Justice Department," Woodward and Bernstein wrote in The Washington Post, saying the situations have become "eerily similar.

“Trump doesn’t need to fire Mueller, just leave him twisting in the wind of the next dozen memo releases and he’ll fire himself.”

Well you might be partially right but he will never “fire himself”. He does not care about appearances. Always remember:

the special counsel probing his administration and campaign.

You mean the one who's spent the last year and a half sifting through the president's dung heap on the taxpayer dime and found nothing -- NOTHING -- to indicate any wrongdoing? You mean THAT special counsel?

If not now, when? When does the snipe hunt end?

“Secretive, power-loving Nixon....”

You shouldn’t buy into the Left’s “fake history” portrayal of Nixon any more than you should accept their fake news portrayal of Trump today. They will see any non left wing POTUS that way.

What’s going on is that they see everything through the progressive lens: if a president does not advocate globalism and socialist redistribution/ regulation, then they truly believe he’s evil.

If they believe the agenda is evil, they will believe the tactics are evil - any behind closed doors meetings will be called “secretive” and any show of strength will be called a “power-loving”. The exact same behavior from a beloved leftist POTUS will be considered admirable.

Any POTUS who pushes back and wants to drain the swamp will get the same treatment. Pretty much every republican will be seen this way by the left - except if they are weak and accommodating like the bushes and don’t fight back. Then the left will just call them stupid and out of touch.

The left wing media’s portrayal of Nixon regarding Watergate was every bit as fake as the fake news today about Russiagate, except back then there was no alternative media, so fake news became fake history.

I witnessed it happening. Nixon wasn’t perfect - nobody is - but he didn’t deserve to be remembered the way he is remembered. Not even close.

False analogy. Woodward should know better. His sidekick, Bernstein, is a Commie — so what-r-ya-gonna-do there?

All that may be true and probably was, but Nixon loved the power of the Presidency with the White House and his Palace Guards. Although he thought he was a great President, in fact Nixon was a terrible President, greasing the skids for the likes of Carter, Bush, Clinton, and Obama.

Nixon's Palace Guard.

woodward and bernstein are two one trick ponies of times past...even then, their “trick” was suspect. They are very deep state losers who haven’t done anything of note professionally since their watergate “reporting”. Lefty losers.

Wishful thinking by the Swamp. This is the only thing that could restore some credibility to Mueller.

I don't give a sh#t what the Delusional Lying Leftist says about anything. I've you've read my posts, you should know that by now. When I talk about Nixon's failure as President, I'm not even thinking about Watergate.

Nixon loved the power of the Presidency with the White House and his Palace Guards. Although he thought he was a great President, in fact Nixon was a terrible President, greasing the skids for the likes of Carter, Bush, Clinton, and Obama.

Nixon's Palace Guard.

Aside from all that nonsense, he ignored the Constitution. He was absolutely flummoxed by Reagan who he did not understand nor the need for limited constitutional government. He did a lot of stupid things like unconstitutionally set wage and price controls creating economic havoc, exacerbating run-away inflation, and causing shortages seen in the huge lines at gas stations. Socialist and stupid.
