Apart from not yet knowing whether the core booster stuck its landing on the drone ship, the rest of the launch went perfectly!

I know that...it just feels different for me and I have to remind myself that it is about what THEY have done, not how I feel about it!
I fight it every time, but...no matter, still amazing!
So glad I watched it live.
I’ve been hard on Elon with him taking so much tax money for tesla but what he has done with space x, hats off sir. Was very very exciting.
I was kind of disappointed they wouldn’t let that flat earth guy fly his rocket...he would go out doing what he liked, and everyone else would get a good show!
And the earth will still be fla...er...round!
I just kinda figured, having two blowing air at the same time would screw up both landings. Guess not, eh? “It’s gonna screw up both landings, but **** it, just do it that way and make it work, it’ll look more impressive.” :^)
I knew what he meant...:)
Yes, I’ll bet it was awful.
I caught my breath at the “jump”. Thought it might crush the area above the engines. Amazing launch.
Dang, I feel 9 years old again, watching Apollo 11 lift off.
Yes, I agree. I guess they had to protect others. Who knows where that thing would crash.
BTW, I love this whole thing, but I do get a little tired of hearing how this is the largest rocket since Saturn V — it’s not. The two SRBs for the STS (Shuttle) put out over 5 million pounds, and were needed to make the Shuttle fly — but the Shuttle also had liquid-fueled engines on the orbiter itself (that’s what that huge-assed tank was for) meaning that the Shuttle had more thrust than the FH by that amount.
I hope the methane-burning Raptor engines come on line soon. I believe we’ll see those replacing the Merlin 1D engines in the FH, assuming that the FH isn’t a spur line. There are two customers lined up for it, and that’s it, but of course now it is successful instead of vaporware, so heavier payloads can be designed to take advantage of it. The new rumor is, the two guys set up to orbit the Moon within the next year or will be aboard the BFR instead, and that is slated to use the Raptor.

I still can’t tell if the core booster landed on the drone ship successfully?
No kidding...
The talk early in the thread is, the core booster had a RUD (rapid unscheduled disassembly) and didn’t land on the barge, uh, more info will I hope be forthcoming.
Thanks all for posting!
Too bad McCain wasn’t behind the wheel of the Roadster.
Radar Radar Radar RIDER.....
Heavy Metal!
(Ok the car in the movie was coming down, not going up)
This is especially nice for Spacex people because their mission control is in California, so it helps to get them connected to the launch.
They know how to put on a show!
That scene, straight out of movie, gave me chills.
