The first reviews for Black Panther are in and they are very, very good.
The Marvel Studios blockbuster, starring Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyongo and Michael B. Jordan, premiered in front of a star-studded audience in Hollywood Monday night.
Director Ryan Cooglers addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe was praised for being original, highly diverse, and incredibly moving.

I’m not wild about the Black Panthers being glorified in any way, shape or form and that’s what naming this “superhero” the Black Panther does. Beyond that, I’ve only seen previews and it seemed to be all CGI, almost anime looking.
That is true. Anybody showing less than ecstasy would be deemed racist, and never work in the entertainment industry again.
“it may not be as much of a problem if you leave your white hood at home”
Agreed. Some people on this forum act like they’ve never worked with, gone to church with, or otherwise socialized with black people.
And this demonstrates that these same people are deeply in need of a relationship with Jesus that transcends racial issues.
Apart from Christ, people are savages. And it does not matter the color of skin.
Actually yes, at least for me. Period pieces it makes sense for some movies to be all white but fantasy or scifi? The villain here is white but the film does take place in Africa after all.
Jus' sayin'...
???
The character actually appeared in comics a few months before the Black Panther Party formed in 1966.
There’s a reason for that. The movie is set in the Black Panther’s home country, in Africa. There are going to be maybe 4 white guys in the whole film: Andy Serkis (Ulysses Klaue), maybe Chris Evans (Capt. America), Martin Freeman (SHIELD Agent Everett Ross), and maybe Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier). And Capt America and Winter Soldier will be little more than cameos, and may not show up until the stinger at the end.
[Get used to it...there are 21(!) Marvel superhero films in various stages of production set to be released in the next four years. ]
That should completely burn it out.
If Marvel had created superheroes named the Ku Klux Klan a few months before the end of the Civil War, would you find that acceptable now?
And when my wife asks if I want to watch it on pay per view after dinner on a Friday night, I will say “No f*cking way.”
Ehhhh, no thank you
would you expect anything else from a bunch of panty wetting guilt ridden white leftists in Hollywood?
I’m sure it’s good for what it is, but be prepared for the slobbering white liberals in the media to over do the praise.
People are people and I don’t think skin color should matter.
But my issue is that Liberals think skin color DOES matter. To them, it matters a lot. It’s practically the only thing that matters. The Black Panther exists as a superhero basically because some nice do-gooder white people decided to help the little black people out by making a hero for them.
Do you know where on planet Earth the most advanced civilization is located? Wakanda in Africa.
Do you know who has the most advanced technology? Wakanda in Africa.
I see it as hopelessly condescending to black people that white Liberals have to spoon feed them a happy story about how wonderful and noble and brilliant they are.
People who are color-blind would not do this. I see this as a racist movie, just like the NAACP is racist and the Black Congressional Caucus is racist.
People who focus on race are racists. That would be the Democrats.
We Wuz Kangz N Sheeit
And every single one of them will have a black hero and a villainous white guy.
Just another reason to skip the theater.
I told my spouse the other day, if I was a visitor here from another country watching our television programs/commercials, you’d think white people didn’t even exist. Except to be the burglar, bad guy or the “partner” of a black.
Have they given it Best Picture yet?
Then rich black actors and athletes should fund and produce black only movies
LOL! What’ll be interesting to see: If reviews are embargoed, and word of mouth on social media.
Isn’t naming the movie “Black Panther” racist? Not to mention the black panther organization is an America hating criminal enterprise.
