My cousin is an anesthesiologist. I think she is really smart, but she works 13 hours every day and perhaps doesn't have time to think. She is saying the dumbest leftist things, but I know she is not a bad person.
Perhaps you guys have some pieces of advice on how to talk with your family when they've been fooled like that.

And one of the lefty buddies I’ve had forever Informed me recently that she actually now identifies as conservative! And the illegal issue is what drove her to the correct side!

Just ignore her. The chances of her changing her opinions are zero, no matter how you present. She’ll become emotionally defensive and shut you out or shut down. She’s college- and med- and feminist- and media-indoctrinated. The only thing to possibly change her mind would be some harsh, unavoidable, costly event due to proggie practices. Or cult reprogramming.
My oldest daughter is a conservative, voted for President Trump and lately she has been tasting liberal Kool-aid. I personally get mad and yell if she says something stupid that I know she knows better. I don’t recommend that but just being honest. She grew up here on the border and knows the truth about what goes on here- yet she works with mostly liberals that pull at her heartstrings with the DACA lies that it is all Trump’s fault no deal can be reached.
I find articles that state what President Trump has offered to settle DACA and send them to her but honestly I don’t know what you do, am sure you can come up with something better if you can keep your cool because I can’t.
Pick something obvious and say, "Really? I am going to have to look that up!" When it is shown to be false, show it to her.
Once doubt has been planted it is easy to move on to larger things.
I think most college educated in millennium age have been brain washed by leftist professors! Intentional propaganda is used along with education to make them life long Democrats!

I re-established connections with two old friends from years ago on Facebook. I quickly picked up on their leftist political leanings. Both college educated. One a retired judge in a blue blue state. The other raised in a well-off family, involved in Democrat politics. When we were friends decades ago, I don’t remember ever discussing politics. They both did a lot of virtue signaling during the campaign. They believe they have the moral high ground in all things political. I stopped trying to discuss anything with them. I hide all their political stuff that pops up and put up stuff I think of interest in hopes it will break through and make sense. Maybe that’s why we lost contact in the first place-we are miles apart in our core beliefs.

My mother in law had heart surgery when she was 86. She didn’t want to live on blood thinners, and that was the alternative.
It sounds like she works hard and is well rewarded for her hard work. So how does she like having so much of her money taken from her to support non-working people? Wouldn’t it be more effective if she kept it and donated it herself?
You might note how the Trump tax cut is achieving progressive goals. They want more jobs? That’s happening. They want higher wages? That’s happening. They want money brought back to our country? That’s happening.

I don’t always talk to clueless leftists, But when I do I usually order fries.
I simply do not talk to my liberal family members anymore. They are stuck on stupid. I talk to my nieces, nephews and kids instead and look to instill better virtues in them then were instilled into my liberal family members.

Ask questions and listen attentively and courteously - then maybe add a comment that helps indicate there are deeper levels of thought needed to really discuss it - teach them to think.....if that fails, bitch about your day until they decide they don’t want to talk with you - you win and they think it was their idea...
