Is Government Shutdown Chuck Schumer's Way of Stopping Federal Grand Jury Indictments? (Vanity)

Does anyone know if Federal grand juries continue to work during government shutdowns? Because given the potentially stunning information in the House FISA memo - containing information that Congressmen who've seen it say would send people to jail - it is mighty suspicious that Chuck Schumer decided to give up on DACA concessions he had in hand to let the government close.

The State of the Union address could be quite interesting if President Trump decides to go that route. It could be a State of the Union address like no other in history.

This would be a little like closing your eyes to prevent your car from going over the cliff. It’s going to happen. You’re not stopping anything.

Not possible to stop, only to provide excuse for msm not to cover the greatest scandal in American history.

And to make it more interesting, isn't it a bit strange those who are announcing ad naseum they will not be there. Me thinks maybe they will be on a plane out of here

My thoughts exactly. I had a discussion with a family member yesterday and said this will guarantee a shutdown. They are trying to take the "memo" off the news.
This content of this memo appears to be devastating but it's the crimes that it apparently details that has done the damage.
We must keep the pressure on to release the memo.
Folks this is the biggest scandal in American History. There could be no bigger scandal or higher crimes. Our own government conspired to fix the presidential election against the will of American People and the Fifty States. People MUST go to prison or we are done as a republic.

No. Would have no effect. All agencies have reserve funds

Congress is in session. Govt. shutdown affects those agencies and departments that require a spending bill (mostly Executive Branch). Both congress and the judicial branch are not affected here as they are funded by a direct law.

Trump’s SOTU will be like no other in history either way. They can’t handle the truth, heads will expand rapidly.

Best they can do is delay things to give them time to try to get their storieslies together - and they are bound to sound as loony as Schumer and Pelosi usually do.

Personally Id love to see Trump publicly release the report by reading it aloud during the state of the union speech.

Judging from the headline, the though is so cynical.
For Schumer to act alone has no leverage.

Let us know when someone gets indicted.I don't think anyone will need to "let you know," but such predictably sanctimonious scoffing is duly noted. You are safely insulated in the crowd. We'll join up again on the other side.
