TheDream.Us, a nonprofit working toward college access for undocumented immigrants, said the donation from Bezos and his wife MacKenzie is the largest in the organization's history and will fund 1,000 scholarships.
"My dad came to the U.S. when he was 16 as part of Operation Pedro Pan," Bezos said in a statement. "He landed in this country alone and unable to speak English. With a lot of grit and determination and the help of some remarkable organizations in Delaware my dad became an outstanding citizen, and he continues to give back to the country that he feels blessed him in so many ways."

It’s crumbs!
That’s the equivalent of you or I pulling a 2 bit piece out of our pockets, tossing it to somebody and saying... Get yourself an education.
“Nary a dime for US students who got cheated out of their college slot whos parents paid taxes for the state university their whole lives.”
you said it way better than I did!!!!!
” I can find everything at eBay.”
Ditto, And it’s cheaper, almost every time..
AND it gets delivered a LOT quicker
AND most of the sellers on Ebay are normal Americans creating their own wealth and working hard to do it.
not only legal but states have voted to SUBSIDIZE them by allowing them to pay just ‘in-state’ tuition.
grrrr...
... and then after they’re accepted as an in-state tuition payer, they submit a FAFSA that shows they can’t afford it and guess what? They get more subsidies and grants -
more money and slots taken away from tax-paying Americans from that state..
And that puke donohue from the cheap labor express. These guys are the true enemies.
I don't like his cr@p, but I like the cr@p he sends me.
Is there no conservative that can compete with this guy, or the MSM , or the colleges?
Correct on all counts, .... AND, I can sell my stuff as well on eBay. Must have sold 50+ used golf clubs on eBay which I could not have sold any other way.
I think it’s great. Just think how far 33 mil will go back in their own countries.
Smart, deserving, Americans need not apply. Makes me sick.
How about using that money to help turn their original countries into liveable places instead of dung heaps.
He could turn some of his trusted high-level execs to a 1 year boost program for, say... Haiti!
33M starts the ball rolling - get some earthmovers, shovel in towards the center, and show the people how to build small houses and stand up for themselves.
Matter of fact, that is what DJT should have asked Mittens to do last year - it would have been done.
The great thing about America is that both you and Bezos are free to donate $33 million dollars to the college scholarships of your choice.
To bad Jeff couldn’t give $33 million to under privileged American kids.
Not questioning his freedom! Just questioing his judgment and the appearnce of thanklessness to those who helped him and his father.
But after your post here, I question whether you thought through what you wrote.
I grew up dirt poor in Oklahoma. I paid my own way thru collede, OSU, grad in 4 years double major. Worked summers in hot glass factory, in Sapulpa Ok, no AC, 110F indoors. Shift work. 7am to 3pm. 3pm to 11pm. 11pm to 7am. Not fun. Had loans every year. Paid them back on time in full. Had straight As my senior year, president honor roll.
I was a dreamer, no wait, a hard worker.
We paid for all 3 of our kids college, too. Didn’t buy a new car from 1996 till 2011, while kids were in college. Sometimes I put their tuition on credit card and paid it out slowly, painfully.
Where was Jeff Bezos for me?
IOW these are scholarships to kick citizens out of schools and 33 million for schools be funded in teaching left wing nuttery.
