In the altercation, which occurred shortly after takeoff, the male co-pilot allegedly slapped the aircrafts female commander, prompting her to leave the cockpit of the Boeing 777 in tears, according to sources for The Times of India.

If the copilot hit her, is he guilty of assault? No matter what she did just before that happened? Even if she hit him? Did she hit him? Was she threatening to do anything? Was she in a heightened emotional state and thus temporarily unfit to command? What did the other eyewitnesses to the slapping say? Is the man always automatically guilty? Should anyone actually review the facts? Do facts matter when ones biases can be affirmed by punishing a member of a class we dont like?
Who knows. I’m just going with Big Media’s extreme reluctance to release any details.
The real insult was not the slapping.
It was when the co-pilot slapped her AND told her to go “Make me a sammich”.
G1!
“Her reaction is a secondary concern to me.”
I bet you wouldn’t say that if you were one of the passengers.
She probably offered him correction, requiring him to put her in her place according to the custom of the society.
Welcome to the 1500’s.
Judging by the right tails of those charts, there seems to be more women pursuing the highest levels of fitness.
Excellent post!
Maybe she brought him a ham sandwich.
True, but I didn’t specify how much of a secondary concern.
I have a MAJOR issue with someone who slugs or slaps someone on the flight deck (unless there are mitigating conditions, such as the person presenting a danger and refusing to comply with commands)
It goes without saying I would have a MAJOR issue with someone who would leave the flight deck when it is supposedly under their command.
Dont forget the free Hepatitis!
They were/are husband and wife. The wife was the commander, the husband was the co-pilot. The fight was about how their kids were being raised by a nanny rather than the wife...
Im starting up FAWA (Flight Attendant Wrestling Association).
I work the ramp for a very major airline, a few hours a week so I can fly for free. I work with people from countries in the middle east and here is how they treat women. They WILL NOT listen to them, take any orders from them, have an adult work discussion with them, etc. They refuse to do some work because they think if a woman is present she should be the one doing such tasks. When confronted about ANYTHING regarding their work they pull the race card. The airlines pay such low wages for jobs they will risk a lot for a profit and refuse to hire better quality people.
The pilot and co-pilot are husband and wife. The wife was the pilot. They were fighting about how their kids were being raised.
“Whats wrong with women today?
I believe if this happened back, say during wwll when there were women ferrying warplanes, the girl in the left seat would damn well have stayed there irrespective of whether she cried or felt like crying. Our Culture as a whole is decaying.”
I’m both a nurse and a pilot. I hated having to work with foreign nurses in NICU. When they grow up in a culture that doesn’t respect women or at least pretend to treat them as equals, they aren’t who you want when you need someone to take command in an emergency. You want someone that knows how to bitch slap without having to think about it. You want someone that can have the head of a university pediatric ER grovel and apologize for his resident.
Correct. Talk about “unstable”.
Well, the caste system is illegal, but no doubt it is a possibility as culture and beliefs don’t always follow the law.
Perhaps the pilot had imbibed too much wine caste.
