In the altercation, which occurred shortly after takeoff, the male co-pilot allegedly slapped the aircrafts female commander, prompting her to leave the cockpit of the Boeing 777 in tears, according to sources for The Times of India.

Let’s hope not.
He should be fired and prevented from ever being able to be part of a flight crew again.
I absolutely agree. I have flown transatlantic three times. My apprehension of not getting there - even with everything going fine was with me. I shuddered when the pilot came on the intercom- in case it was something scary.
Where are this man's reasoning and reality? Could he not imagine the trauma of even having to work on an elaborate safety system? This if there was a foul up. I do give the woman a pass, just as long as he was fully qualified.
“Did they have auto pilot like in Airplane?
Lew Alcindor.
“Maybe she grabbed the wrong stick”
And he was queer.
Thanks Peter Libra...
“This is why no one should ever fly on an airline headquartered in the Middle East, India, or any of the Asian countries, because you never know when you will get some deranged muslim nutball as your pilot. Possible exception would be Singapore Airlines.”
This is why no one should ever fly on an airline.
I had to look it up.
How did you know his real name? :)
Im 49, and not a basketball fan. Don’t know when he played.

Surely you cant be serious “
Don’t call me....oh never mind.
“I wasnt there, and I dont know how hard she was hit.”
Try hitting a naval ship’s captain!
Surely you can’t be serious!
“I would think there would be many women would be pretty angry at the female pilot for her tearful exit”
A bite on his hand crunching a few bones would have been cool.
Good point. If a person had tried to do that to a naval ship’s captain, that person would have been take down and placed in the brig, to remain there for an extended period of time.
This had to be a guy who refused to submit to a female captain’s direction.
I can’t imagine anything other than that to cause this guy to reach out and assault her.
In that situation, you put all personal concerns behind you and do your duty. If there was something that offensive said to you, you should report it at the end of the flight.
“In earlier days Freepers would wait to learn of the facts before rendering approval or criticism.”
The conventional wisdom in America now is that there are no circumstances under which it is meritorious—or even acceptable—for a man to hit a woman.
Don’t know when that happened. It used to be that a gentleman did not strike a lady.
Now you don’t even have to ask what she did. We don’t need to know if she assaulted him sexually, if she pulled a gun on him, if she tried to stick him in the eye with a knife, if she was trying to fly the airplane into a mountain...it doesn’t matter.
Did she deliver an insult that would have provoked the man to strike another man, relying on her plumbing to protect her from the consequences of her misconduct?
Oh, yes, they say. You must treat me exactly like a man, except I get to say anything I want with no repercussions.
So-called “feminist” shit goblins are a corrosive element that is rotting the very foundations of civilization.
UCLA back in the 60’s/70’s ish.

I do remember that. I don’t have a problem at all working with and for women, some of the best bosses I have had have been female.
I do have a major problem with combat roles for women, though. I don’t think we can afford to do those kinds of experiments when blood is on the line, but...I think that battle is over, and we are just going to have to learn it the hard way.
Heh, my wife said when she was a young girl and her brothers would pick on her, she would say “she doesn’t fight fair...be warned!”
I have never had to push that envelope, but it is good to be warned!
India. Its a different world.
“Has there ever been any Flight-related FR thread that didnt have at least one Airplane reference?”
Not in my short time here.
Hopefully there never will be.
And the Chinese names thing is a hoot too.
Very nice, never saw that before, thanks!
