I think he was surprised and peaved off enough by how many Democrats turned against him he’s just happy to throw in the towel and walk away from the whole cluster. Can’t say I blame him either.

So as a society we have come to this: a sworn abortionist is considered more respectable then a retired Judge with many enemies due to his position and one unfounded allegation of impropriety.
Makes Franken look almost sympathetic.
He's vested for pension. Probably has to more to do with January 3rd being the start of the next Senate session. He wants Tina Smith to be there from day one.
