With the Carolina Panthers surprisingly soon to be on the market, the franchise is getting interest from a few unexpected new potential owners, including Sean "Diddy" Combs, Stephen Curry, and now Colin Kaepernick.

Current owner Jerry Richardson announced on Sunday that he would be selling the team after a report from Sports Illustrated revealed accusations of sexual misconduct and the use of a racial slur.

Hip hop mogul and entrepreneur Sean "Diddy" Combs was one of the first high-profile celebrities to express interest in owning the team, tweeting out on Sunday night "I would like to buy the @Panthers. Spread the word. Retweet!" to his 13.9 million followers.

Shortly after that, NBA superstar Stephen Curry threw his hat in the ring, quote-tweeting Diddy's original message and adding "I want in!"

Great idea. The NFL may not exist in three to five years.

Let him destroy his wealth.

He could help manage the decline!

Instead of, you know, causing it.

America is a wonderful country, isn’t it, Colin? These sorts of things are possible, here. The land of opportunity.

Try it anywhere else.

Kapernick has the kind of cash laying around to buy an NFL team. Yeah, sure. Failed QBs are fabulously wealthy, everyone knows that.

Awww....successful black men buying a sports team, and then scolding evil capitalist America at the end of the day!!!

Hopefully, he buys the team. Puffy is a good businessman, he is a good businessman.

Can Rush Limbaugh get in on that deal, or is he too political?

I was wondering that too.

Oh please, Oh please let this happen.

LOL! Very first thing that popped into my head. See them in bankruptcy within a year or so.

I’m sure the spineless NFL will secure a deal for these clowns to purchase the term. Affirmative action is alive and kicking.

Or Diddy, Kaepernick et. al. are going to find out what it’s really like to be “The Man.”

I hope Combs mortgages everything he owns. Buys the Panthers.
Signs the Anti American.
Then I will enjoy watching him lose every penny he invested.
And sell the team in a fire sale.

“When Shad Khan bought the Jags the cost was $760 million. I seriously doubt these people have that kind of $$. Or am I out in left field?

Plenty of Agitators can pool their money and finance the rest. Doesn’t mean they will be the high bidder. And certainly any Institution loaning them money will never agree to let them run the day to day operations short of George Soros.

Well if he can't be a player then he might as well be an owner, though how much of the $2.3 billion he has to contribute can't be very much.

The Buffalo Bills(one of the least expensive NFL franchises) sold for $1.5 Billion in 2014 after Ralph Wilson died. Jon Bon Jovi’s group was the runner up on the purchase of the Bills. They bid $1 billion. The Panthers are worth a lot more than the Bills. However, according to NFL rules, ONE individual has to put up at least 30% of the purchase price.

Having Diddy as an owner would just put an exclamation point on the term ‘thug ball’.

Puff Daddy, probably has a billion. Not sure how much Kapernick has. Seems like the NFL would need a more secure investing than this.
