Actor George Clooney and writer Matt Charman are developing a limited Netflix series on the Watergate scandal that engulfed former President Richard Nixon.
Bridge of Spies writer Charman has teamed up with Clooney and his production company Smokehouse Pictures to develop the series for Netflix, according to Deadline.
The eight-episode series, titled Watergate, will reportedly focus on different individuals involved in the scandal, including former Attorney General John Mitchell and Nixon attorney John Ehrlichman.

Hell, most of the under forties are only vaguely aware of Nixon and watergate.
Sssshh! Don't tell them.
Psst George: We already know how it ends

“developing a limited Netflix series on the Watergate scandal”
Not to worry .. it will be self-limiting.
I’ll pass.
LOL, I’m sure they’ll try to write the “revised” story line to Trump’s “many crimes.”
Clooney will politicize the history to his view....so it will be a series of fairy tales.
Clooney is tremendously overrated. It seems as if his movies are always rated higher by the critics then they are by the viewing audience. I’m guessing he will have a similar result with this Netflix miniseries.
Wonder if he’ll get to the part where the whole thing was a set up by John Dean to get to records of his wife’s “business”?
The only three Clooney movies I ever enjoyed to a great degree....were O’Brother Where Art Thou, Three Kings, and Leathernecks.
How about an ObamaGate movie as the truth is unfolding? He can do a sequel and interview all the Swamp feces as they are hauled off to federal prison.
Reminds me of WEST WING during the Clinton years.
They are losing in the real world so they fall back to their fantasy world.
How many pro Kennedy anti Nixon movies can these libs make? Hollywood is burning in more ways than one. Godless, pedophile, rapists...exposed.
Yeah.....sex offender Dustin Hoffman is available for hire.
But there seems to have been an actual decline in rational thinking. The United States had become a place where entertainers and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance. They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously after all, if an athlete is paid a million or more a year, he knows he is important
so his opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he proves himself to be both ignorant and subliterate every time he opens his mouth. (Most of his fans were just as ignorant and unlettered; the disease was spreading.)

He’s probably doing this on the deep state’s wishes to bring impeachment back into people’s minds.
The real story of watergate would be much more interesting. I’ve heard that watergate was really just about removing Nixon because he wasn’t going along with David Rockefeller’s plans to move US manufacturing to China:
Will the “G” man play himself in the series? Probably not, he has aged since then.
Heck, yes....might even bring back tarring and feathering.
They could do Watergate in a 1-2 episode series if they wanted. Dragging it out will only interject a lot of liberal propaganda that doesn’t really even relate to Watergate.
Then Clooney then announced his retirement from acting. What the heck, why doesn't he just ride off into the sunset gracefully? Did he have a change of heart?
Those close to him should ask him to pee in a cup. Alcoholism and drug addiction are rife among the Clooney clan. Perhaps a court appointed guardian is in order here. The man seems incapable of managing his life, frittering money away like a child in a toy store.
It’s like an old High School quarterback in a bar —
“I was really something, let me tell you. There was this one time — back in 1973, I think it was. We were facing those guys from Hackensack. Tough fellas, let me tell you. Anyway, it was the fourth quarter. I told ol’ John Dean to go deep left. Them boys were comin’ at me, but I threw that ball a country mile right into the end zone. Man, it was something, let me tell you.”
