My name is Jasmine Lopez, Im 11 years old and Im a U.S. citizen. If Congress doesn't take action now, I may not have my mom with me for the holidays.
Why is this important for me? Because Ive already experienced something close to losing my dad, and I dont want that to happen ever again.
I was born in Florida, but both my parents were born in Mexico and are living in the U.S. undocumented. Even though they were always careful when driving to work or to the grocery store, one day things got real for all of us. My dad was detained while driving because he couldnt get a drivers license. Thankfully, we were able to get him out of detention so he wouldnt get deported.
As a kid in this country, I have the constitutional right to pursue happiness. But without a Dream Act that allows my mom to stay and doesn't hurt my dad, Im not fulfilling my right. Thats why, instead of writing a letter to Santa this year, I decided to write a letter to Congress and ask them to act now. Last week, I even flew to Washington D.C. to deliver my letter directly to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, but he wouldnt open the door for me.
My moms DACA expires on December 22nd, the exact same day as the deadline that Congress has to make a decision. Please, Congress, put in a vote. Allow my childhood to continue instead of ending it by separating my family.
All I want for Christmas is Congress to pass a clean Dream Act. It would be like a miracle for many immigrant families like mine.

What? Deport the parents. In the unlikely event that those criminals are decent people, they will take their daughter with them. She is a citizen and can come back once she's an adult if she wishes, but they should be barred from our country forever. Far more likely, the patents are scum who will abandon their child once they are deported. That is their right, but I'll be disappointed if they do it.
An 11 year old didnt “wright” this...
Your parents are criminals. Any argument you make for them staying here and out of prison could have been made for Bonnie and Clyde.

Dang, ya beat me to the copy & paste!!!
An 11 year old writing for a magazine that teaches teen girls about anal sex?
https://www.teenvogue.com/story/anal-sex-what-you-need-to-know
Mexico’s a fine county.
According to Mexican elites it’s a better place than the United States. Jasmine Lopez should be happy to go back home with her parents. Maybe her parents can try again to be Americans - and this time do it leagally.
Oh, and bank robbers are NOT allowed to give ‘the loot’ to their innocent children. So Jasmine, don’t encourage them to break our theft laws either.
Ohhh, noooooeees! Say it ain't so!
Pack your bags too then. Seems pretty simple.
“...Dont forget Bushs contribution to that....”
Most people do not know how CONNECTED the Bush family is to Mexico. He was Vicente Foxs’ Manchurian Candidate assisting heavily with the exporting of Mexican poverty into the USA.
“As a kid in this country, I have the constitutional right to pursue happiness. But without a Dream Act that allows my mom to stay and doesn’t hurt my dad, Im not fulfilling my right.”
Well, without $100 million to finance my dream of owning a topless water park, I’m not fulfilling my right. Congress better get right on that!
“BTW, this is from the same Teen Vogue mag that thinks its cool to have adverts about drag queens giving makeup tips to young girls.....”
And anal sex tips.
All I want for Christmas, is for us to get our immigration system under VERY TIGHT control.
In other words, it's made up. The first clue is the name Jasmine, which can be Mexican, but isn't very common, and happens to be fashionably exotic here. Most important, it's not too foreign or scary-religious-sounding like most Mexican girls' names in fact are. Such as Lourdes or Maria or Maria del Pilar or . . .
So, there may be people out there who are kinda-sorta in this situation, but not exactly, and every thought and detail here is fictional. Lefty fascists make stuff up because reality isn't Progressive enough.
” I may not have my mom with me for the holidays.”
She would chose staying in the US over being with her parents. If she is separated from Mom and Dad it is because she chose to do so since she could CHOSE TO GO BACK WITH THEM.
Curious, can mom and dad force her to go back?
Teen Vogue, the magazine extolling the virtues of being Sodomized.
“what an awful Christmas is for them and their families, living under the threat of deportation by Donald Trump”
Then we should just deport them so they won’t have to live under that awful threat anymore. What’s the hold-up, anyway? The wait for deportation seems worse than waiting for a 90 year old woman at the grocery store who is counting pennies out of her coin purse.
Better than "walla"
