Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

Wow. Hope it holds!
Unfortunately per CardCarryingMember.VastRightWC it sounds like the wrong county is the one left — I thought Birmingham was already reported.

We can hope though ...
These are from the secretary of state of Alabama numbers.
watching your posts closely. Thank you
Jeff Sessions is a good man, but he should practice law back in Alabama and resign.
too many republicans want perfection in a candidate as if they themselves are perfect.
Yes the dems have EVERYTHING to gain by cheating.
I figured the fix was in when FOX news suddenly announced over the weekend, that they ha a poll showing Jones 10 points ahead of Moore.
I said to my family "Watch out they've found a way to cheat in the Alabama election," and that they needed a poll to back the "results".
thx...very legit then.
They'll be OK. Many Conservatives have had more than their fill the Rove, McCain, Graham, GOP-E Propaganda, News Network called Fox News. OAN does something FAUX doesn't which is give news rather than 24 a day talking head shows. Fox is strictly talking heads with one minute news sound bites every half hour. Plus OAN doesn't have Shepherd Smith nor Rivero another huge plus in OAN's favor in my book. Surwival will likely be because OAN hasn't not to gone the Fox route except for the two shows they have.
“Moore just lost outside the margin of recount according to Alabama SoS.”
The vote seems pretty tight. I’m still hoping for a recount and an audit of demoncrat fraud.
He did not have the resources to combat the combined Democrat, Republican and media smear machine onslaught after the NRSC and RNC pulled all their funding
I supported Roy Moore and I'm an independent voter.
My wife is a college grad and about as hard core Republican as they come and she bough the sexual predator story hook, line and sinker.
The venom the smear campaign built up in her against Roy Moore is stunning and she is 100% sure the allegations are true.
Never underestimate the skill the Democrats have at smears and dirty tricks and the Republicans played right into their hands. They can crate an entire alternate reality totally devoid of facts with their propaganda and echo chamber tactics and get enough people to suspend disbelief until after the election to get their guy over the finish line.
Obama and Soros connected groups pumped about 10 million bucks into the election in the last 48 hours so a staggering amount of walking around money hit streets in the urban areas.
I hope this debacle brings down McConnell
On the other hand, Moore really did not defend himself aggressively enough. A political street fight like this one really separates the men from the boys.
Moore should have hit pushed back on the smear campaign harder and he totally let Jones get a pass on his radical left wing positions.
Moore is a good man and good men often have trouble fighting dirty.
The Dems will always go with that type..we need to be certain that we not nominate anyone even remotely like those two. not saying Moore is..but he did a real poor job of convincing me he doesnt have some questionable proclivities.
Sorry, perfect is the enemy of good. We’re never going to get the ideal candidate. I wasn’t fan of any of the AL GOP candidates.
But in the end we needed to drag Moore across the finish line becuase the alternative was MUCH worse. Now we have lost the seat, lost MAGA momentum and the GOPe/Dems are all fired up for 2018. We have BIG problems now.
None of the accusers have anything to lose.
They have been losers all their life.
nope,
Doug Jones (DEM)
49.68%
619,595
Roy S. Moore (REP)
48.63%

More than half a percent which means no recount
Fox’s weekend/latest poll made me think the same thing.
All the bets and payoffs were placed.
If Moore concedes, it’s officially over. If he doesn’t, then Sessions will step in and dem voter fraud will be exposed and Moore will be the winner.
Hey, one can dream right?
20k+ write-ins wasted their wrote because they obviously did not elect the person they wrote in. Many will likely regret their vote when they see what a horrible senator jones will be for their state.
Fair enough. I take your word for it.
None the less, the terrible candidate came very close to winning.
With more money, GOPe support, he could have gotten the 9,500 more votes.
Being outspent like that means you don’t get consultants, you don’t get great signage, you don’t get great radio spots playing for weeks on end.
The other guy gets all the breaks. You drive around in a bus while he flies around in a jet.
While these might not be totally accurate there, you know what I mean.
He was stomped by folks who should have been there to support him. I’ve seen it so many times out here in California. Now you know how we became such a screwed up state. These exact same things took place with our candidates, abandoned to die on the vine by the RP in state and and out of state.
Lets face it our guys get nothing but table scraps. Then they tell us our type of people can’t win. B.S. They can too. Look no further than Trump for evidence of that.
McConnell and Ryan hated Moore. He beat their guy. They could’t help him, or it would have proven them wrong, when they said he couldn’t win in November.
It was more important to them to look smart, than to get our team elected.
This sucks.
