Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

The Left is going to take this a refutation of Trump.
Then why did Trump win by 27% a year ago?
Sessions should have remained Senator.
An legislative advisor. An attorney is supposed to be tough, brash (Christie, Giuliani, Safir, etc.)
Sessions is too Southern nice.
Lot’s of people in Alabama are going to be waking up with a bad case of buyers remorse.
Jeff Sessions - with an assist from Bannon - might very well have just ended the Trump agenda. Tax reform will be the last Trump item passed by the Senate. The Senate is now effectively in Swamp-Democrat hands. They will begin their reign of terror tomorrow.
The borders will remain open and there will be amnesty if Trump wants anything. Judges...hah! The next Supreme Court Justice is another Sodomayor or theyll never be confirmed. Democrats are not Republicans, they will brutalize the opposition in the Senate, though with McCain and Flake there, they wont have to.
And a suggestion to Republicans: youd better run nothing but women from now on or you are dead meat. No male Republican has a snowflakes chance in Hell after this.
Who has the most liberal Senators...Arizona or Alabama?
Its not going to be that close.

Seems you are correct......
Worse decision he has made.
The solid south is no longer under the right circumstance
A liberal potus candidate under the right circumstance could win Alabama too
If that can happen it can anywhere
It cannot be overemphasized how big a loss this is in the culture war
Trumps agenda is dead in the water from her on
The crucible of liberal women and their right to kill their babies
Continues unfettered
A SCOTUS nominee who could overturn Roe v Wade is impossible now
This is monumental unless we get a fortuitous break
Like replacing McCain and Flake with better when time comes
Bredesen may win in TN too
Alabama falls....whew
Win win for GOPe and Dems
My apologies to all reassured by me this couldnt happen
That should've been the warning sign for Republicans to stay away from Moore!
I agree, but the Dems had a lot of help from the turncoats in the Republican ranks.
We’ll see how it goes. I’m not a happy camper right now either.
Face it. Moore was a LOUSY candidate.
Stop. Watching. Fox.
Tokyo Rose had nothing on Fox.
2018 will be a bloodbath if Bannon selects our candidates.
Hopefully, Flake will reconsider his decision to retire. With rock ribbed conservatives like him, Shelby (campaigned for Jones) and Corker in the Senate I have no doubt we will MAGA.
Saw on another board a post from a supposed GOP voter in AL who could not bring himself to vote for Moore, and he also had other GOP friends that chose to stay home. So yes, it looks like the smear campaign against Moore worked since it suppressed the GOP turnout.
This is good for 2018. Trump is obstructed.
Obamacare remains unless voters get motivated.
Deadlock favors Trump in 2018.
Trump won Alabama by 26 points so unless something happened in the past year I doubt its gone more “Progressive”
Please see Post 1665 by kahuna!!!
Exactly. This was a full out assault on conservatives. Even had REPUBLICANS like Flake publicly admitting to giving money to Jones, the RNC pulling support for Moore publicly.
A disgrace they do NOT want Trump and his agenda to succeed. They want to keep that America as the global enterprise chugging along while stuffing their pockets from the cheap labor express the international corporations want them to support.
Umm... that wouldn't bother me.
However, I think McConnell is happily celebrating tonight.
Peter Doocey (sp?) on Fox News is saying a BIG FINGER is pointing at Mitch McConnell tonight.
Maybe AL is just “pro-life” on paper but really not at all bothered by abortion, as is the case in so many states.
