Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

Unbelievable!
That was a disaster indeed. He should have come prepared. Did you date teens? No....well, not generally. WTF? Did you date her? I don’t remember, but if I did then I did. WTF? I got the permission of her mother? WTF.
The moral of the story is, always listen to Trump.
COUNTED SO FAR: 93% (2,065 of 2,220 precincts) ROY MOORE 600,183 48.7% DOUG JONES 612,108 49.7%Sigh........
[But millions of Christians have prayed this prayer. They wanted their nation to turn back to God.]
CHRISTIANS are big on praying 2 CHRONICLES 7:14, but they tend to overlook the part that says “turn from their wicked ways.”
It is hard to win battles when you are getting shot at from your rear!
“2018 will be a bloodbath if Bannon selects our candidates.”
Yeah, it would be so much better if pimple-pecker McTurtle selected our candidates.../s
Just goes to show, the smear campaign worked. Both the GOPe and the Rats worked in conjunction to ensure Moore did not win the Senate seat, and their plan ultimately worked.
And this also goes to show that a truly God fearing man will more than likely never win a senate or congressional seat in this country ever again.
And that being said, it’s also why this country is under God’s judgment and when the axe falls, this country will have no one to blame but itself.
Agree 100%.
Really sickening to see the handful, here, turning on Judge Moore.
If folks cannot see the writing on the swamp wall....that the Rats/RINOs/Elites don’t want Trump’s conservative agenda to succeed...and, that they will stop at NOTHING to stop Trump, then we have fallen even further than I imagined.
These RINO/Elites would rather a DEM be in that seat, and DEMs take the Senate, than to put forth and support a good man, like Judge Moore.
Your anger should be directed at McConnell and the $orass gang, not at Judge Moore, Bannon or Pres Trump.
Thank you for your substantive, helpful post, Nelson. I will do as you recommend.
Listen all you people, thanks for being here tonight. I’m following along in Mexico (of all places), and enjoying being with so many like-minded folks. It’s great that we can do this in real time. We’ll survive. The sun will come up tomorrow. Good night!
At least we have the Romney/McCain ticket in 2020.

Jones will be voting like he’s repping San Francisco. Noway will be vote the way Alabama vote in reality.
He’ll be gone in 3 years because of that as well. This Jones is temporary.
Wouldn’t take much for some woman to be paid off to say that Mo Brooks harassed them, seriously it would be that easy. Republicans need to use the same Dem playbook and accuse Democrats of doing the same thing

Fox News reporting that Alabama has been “progressively moving forward” over the past few years. Isn’t as conservative as it used to be. Great. :-(
You’re absolutely right!!!
Alas Alabama!!
First, Sessions turns out to be an unmitigated disaster as Attorney General.
Now, a heretofore safe GOP Senate Seat is squandered to an inferior candidate, mired in scandal and obviously lacking in the most basic political instincts.
That stupid interview with a 12-year-old girl was a pathetic stunt on the eve of the election, only serving to remind voters of the allegations against him.
What do you think about Pinkbell’s post #1628?
I’m down too.
Look, this will have to settle in for a few days.
I understand where you are coming from, but did either of us think we would have a president like this again?
There will be brighter days.
As for McConnell and Ryan, those two are dead to me.

Ten years ago, in December 2007, when my father was in the hospital dying, a doctor told me “Sometimes God says no.”
The doctor said that his mother gave him a poster when he was a teenager which said just that.
Jones will be representing Hollywood, but apparently Alabamans were too stupid to realize this.
