If you have the stomach for it, I want you to watch one of the most outrageous and infuriating videos I’ve ever seen. It shows the police shooting of Daniel Shaver in Mesa, Arizona. He was crawling on his hands and knees, crying, and begging police not to shoot him. An officer shot him anyway:
The Washington Post’s account is decent, but you have to watch the video truly grasp the strangeness of the requests:
In fact, the Post actually sugarcoats the encounter. At one point an officer tells him “do not put your hands down for any reason,” even saying, “If you think you’re going to fall, you better fall on your face.” Then he says, “Crawl towards me.” How he can crawl without putting his hands down, I don’t know. As the sobbing man crawls, he reaches back towards his pants (perhaps to pull them up) and is immediately shot dead. He had no weapon. He had done nothing wrong. And now he’s dead.
Essentially, what the police told an innocent, law-abiding, intoxicated American was this: Follow my highly-specific, very strange instructions or die. There was no need to make him crawl. The police were in command of the situation. At no point is there a visible weapon. I have seen soldiers deal with al Qaeda terrorists with more professionalism and poise. When a man is prone, his hands are visible, and your gun is trained upon him, he is in your power. At trial, the officer testified that he though the suspect was reaching for his gun, and that if he had a chance to do things over, he’d make the same decision again. In other words, he presented the classic defense. He was afraid, so he fired.

Bring federal charges of murder against this ex-cop. Put him in prison for life.

Since he wasn't told to keep his hands in the air. He was told to keep his hands pa;ms down on the ground. But then you do not impress me as a very intelligent person to begin with.

I don’t believe that one bit, the vast majority of LEOs abhor this as much as any of us do. Bad apples will be dealt with thru the rulé of law, as they have been in the past.

The cop heard talking is not the one who shot him, if I understand correctly. Ironically, he was not charged with anything, though he may be even more responsible for the ultimate outcome.
Probably a safe bet.

Name prominent examples of this, please. I don't believe you can. All I've seen is police backing up the miscreants in their midst and no further consequence of idiotic chickenshit behavior unworthy of Barney Fife such as this.
Police departments across this Great Republic consist of:
1) Violent murderers.
2) People who tolerate violent murderers in their midst.
The police need to police their own ranks, or they will be policed by others. They won't like that.
He should have never been given a badge simply because of all of the tattoos. He obviously has mental issues that he’s trying to hide with ink. Put him in a line-up with a bunch of lifer prison inmates and it would he impossible to pick out the cop. That’s what I believe.
Putting your hands out to arrest a fall is an involuntary reflex. Killing someone for an involuntary reflex is completely unjustifiable. Threatening to do so demonstrates premeditation and intent. This murderer in a blue costume should hang. Anything less is a miscarriage of justice.

Jesus bring Eric Holder back for Christ’s sake. Much greater likelihood of him doing the right thing than Rip Van Sessions. This homicidal prick should have had US Marshals slap cuffs on him on the way out of the court room.
Had a big fat cop tell me “People need to respect my authority”. I doubt he knows who Cartman is but I’d put his intelligence in the “8 year old” category.
