Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer knew it was time for Minnesota Democrat Al Franken to leave the Senate even before the public calls for his resignation Wednesday. The New York Democrat told Franken in a phone call that he needed to resign after Wednesday mornings publication of further allegations of sexual misconduct by the senator, according to a person familiar with the conversation.
Thats despite the close friendship between the two lawmakers. Franken was a member of one of Schumers Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee classes and he provided the party with 60 votes in 2009 when he was sworn in after a lengthy recount and legal battle in his race against Republican Sen. Norm Coleman.

They know that Moore will also strongly back Trump’s agenda AND Trump’s “behavior”. That is terrifying to Yertle and the other spineless RINOS.
Keith Ellison is the natural choice to replace Franken
Expecting to see pigs flying by any minute now....
This is about Moore.
No, this is about Trump.
They are going to unleash on Trump, Moore is small potoatoes
This too will no doubt backfire against Deep Dark Swamp.
Also if Moore is elected like Monica Crowley said tonight on Hannity, the left(And of course the Commie media) will say “See the GOP is the party of perverts” the Democrat Party is purging the “Old News” and trying to get more women, more minorities to come to their side
Al Franken is the ram sacrificed so they can kill the lamb.
Well played.
Of course, the Democrats suffer from the disadvantage actually being guilty of these acts—as opposed to the false accusations which have been leveled at President Trump, and apparently Roy Moore as well...
He/she COULD be worse such as a radical Somali Muslim if the governor makes the appointment. When Condit dropped out and the guy who replaced him was far worse. I was glad to see Boehner leave, only to get P. Ryan who is worse. I would rather have the people choose Franken’s replacement than have the governor appoint somebody even though it is “temporary.”
“Al, most of us were fine with those initial 99 groping allegations, but you really crossed the line when we heard about that 100th one”.
Im trying to emulate the master of phrase turning. :-)
Can you see McConnell doing this...
For now.
It’s ultimately about Pres. Trump.
While the Dems are frantically searching for someone to accuse President Trump of anything they can come up with.
Franken: There is some irony in the fact that I am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of sexual assault sits in the Oval Office, and a man who has repeatedly preyed on young girls campaigns for the Senate with the full support of his party.
