Schumer Told Franken Wednesday Morning That He Needed to Go
Roll Call ^ | December 6, 2017

Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer knew it was time for Minnesota Democrat Al Franken to leave the Senate even before the public calls for his resignation Wednesday. The New York Democrat told Franken in a phone call that he needed to resign after Wednesday morning’s publication of further allegations of sexual misconduct by the senator, according to a person familiar with the conversation.

That’s despite the close friendship between the two lawmakers. Franken was a member of one of Schumer’s Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee classes and he provided the party with 60 votes in 2009 when he was sworn in after a lengthy recount and legal battle in his race against Republican Sen. Norm Coleman.

I think Schumer needs to go. As for A. Franken, the “temporary” replacement by the governor could be worse.

Schumer needs to look himself in the mirror and say “Chuck, its time to go”

Its also about President Trump..this way leftists can say “See we got rid of our perverts now GOP you get rid of yours” this is ALL about getting rid of President Trump..Roy Moore is small potatoes to the left, they want the big fish

This is about Moore.

Highly likely. I would not be entirely surprised to learn that Franken's exit is connected to Mitt Romney's push to refuse to seat Moore if he's elected. Quid pro quo. The Senate Old Boys Club is all about quid pro quo.

Soros, Obama, the Clintons, have billions in think tanks on how to gain their power back. Franken is just a bishop they are sacrificing to get a queen (Judge Moore). They think after they got the queen they can get check mate on Trump and stop the Senate stone cold. It’s an expensive game they are playing. It could work if the dumb ass never-Trumpers buy into it.

Yea, Al thinks his bowing out will elect Doug Jones. Let’s pray that people in AL will be capable to discern the truth. Al may be like a Sidney Carton person: sacrificing self for the “greater [liberal] good.”

The Franken liberal replacement will be Franken II regardless of the person’s name. If MN had a Republican governor, they would not be trying to get rid of Franken.

Who are they going to install in his stead, a Somalian warlord?

If the Democrats were serious about keeping Franken, they would already be displaying such a candidate as his replacement. Insurance policy.

We LOVE you Al Franken. Please stay.

Tell hanging 4 eyes Schumer you intend to stay.

They are discriminating against your gender identity of a man who wears big diapers.

But like the old Soviet guard, they will not be able to hold on forever against the much larger forces that are exposing their innate contradictions and overall corruption.

Alabama needs to vote for Moore. Even if the senate pushes him out later, worst case scenario will be a new election where hopefully a republican with less baggage will replace him.

This seat must not be handed over to the Rats!

Who the F does Willard Romney think he is? He is a nothing and a nobody, he’s a failed presidential candidate, and he holds no public office. He’s a slimey worm and he’s acting very Kankles-like, marching around like he’s the boss of everybody.

No, the teens are STILL NOT “The Decade of Al Franken” ...

... we’ll see if the bum has any cojones - he’s got no backup career to go to, so if he were really the bad SOB that he pretends to be, he’d tell them to go fly a kite ...

Oh, and McConnell's in on it.

They want Moore out bad, worse than anything Moore really presents as a danger to them. Apparently seating Moore sends a message that they're not in control. I have news for them: they're not.

Very little is certain in politics but I just don’t see how
Franken and Conyers will impact Republican turnout in Alabama.

All? No. The dems are not limited by such thinking that it has to be either A or B. In this case it is A + B.

This is about Moore because the loss of even one Senator can cause problems with the Republicans ... AND ... it's about Trump. So you're part right.
