A week after NBC fired Matt Lauer, the ousted anchor is still reeling.
“He is weak and broken and ashamed by his own admission,” one of Lauer’s former Today show colleagues tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue.
“He is my friend,” the colleague adds. “He is human, and he is flawed. But is he going to use his power to be a predator on women? Until I see solid evidence of that, I just can’t believe it. We don’t know the details.”
Lauer, 59, was terminated after the network received a “detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior,” with reason to believe “this may not have been an isolated incident.” A source later told PEOPLE that Lauer was let go due to sexual misconduct with that woman throughout 2014, including at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. (Another source with knowledge of the situation said Lauer had viewed this relationship as “consensual” and was “dumbfounded” by the accusation.)

It’s not just lauer...apparently. It’s the men, women, the whole kabob at NBC who were one big party crew. Did you read about the roast they had a few years back? IThe line of jokes in poles that the men were dirt bags and the women were willing participants. Look....people can do what they want. I judge no one. But, this is also the same crew that looks seriously into the camera each night and harshly judges mid America. THE PHONINESS IS JUST AWFUL,

I find it interesting that many of the people who are planning evil or saying evil against President Trump are having bad things come back on them, seemingly from out of the blue. I have a conservative friend who refers to this as “the Haman effect”. If you’re wondering what I’m referring to, look in the Bible in the Book of Esther chapter 7 verses 9 and 10. What it means is that Haman, who had planned to kill Esther’s uncle Mordecai...and all the Jews in Persia...ended up being hung on the 50-foot high gallows he set up to do the deed to Mordecai.
Think about it... Senator Warren, representative Conyers, Senator Franken, Matt Lauer, Garrison Keillor... The list goes on and on.
