Matt Lauer, the disgraced former anchor of NBC's "Today" show who was fired Wednesday for inappropriate sexual behavior, once summoned a married female employee to his office, locked the door and sexually assaulted her until she passed out, the New York Times reported after interviewing the accuser.
The alleged incident occurred in 2001. The woman, who was not named in the report, told the Times that she was in her 40s at the time.
According to the report, Lauer was behind his desk and she took a seat in the office. She said he locked the door from a button at his desk and he asked her to unbutton her blouse. She said she complied and claims he got up from his desk, approached her from behind, bent her over his desk and had sex.
Woke up on the floor
Matt Lauer has been terminated from NBC News. On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. As a result, weve decided to terminate his employment. pic.twitter.com/1A3UAZpvPb TODAY (@TODAYshow) November 29, 2017
She claims that she passed out during intercourse and woke up later on the floor in his office. She said Lauer had his assistant take her to a nurse. She told the Times that Lauer never mentioned the encounter with her again and she said she left the network about a year later.
The accuser asked the paper not to identify her in the report. The paper said it contacted her ex-husband who said he remembered the alleged encounter. The two were reportedly separated in 2001 and are now divorced.
The Times report said NBC received at least two more complaints about Lauer after the network announced he was fired prior to Wednesdays "Today"...

The Left promoted a culture of free, no-responsibility sex, and now its coming back to haunt them.
Mona Charen was interviewed last night on EWTN and thats exactly what she said. Dont look for her to be interviewed on CNN or MSNBC any time soon.
“Yes, because every time I have consensual sex with my boss I black out as well and have to be revived by co-workers and taken to a nurse for medical treatment.”
But where’s the assault? I’ve read at least three versions of this story now and none of them mention any physical assault, rape, or violence of any kind. She fainted and Lauer’s a scumbag for leaving her on the floor like a piece of trash, but there is not a single mention of any violence. And why would she consent to unbuttoning her blouse?
She consented. She fainted. She might have fainted for any number of reasons. She herself gave no information showing anything other than a consensual encounter. They’re both idiots. And I am in no way defending Lauer either.
Same here. I'm going down fighting, unless it's something I wanted to do.
I doubt Matt installed the button. So the network knew and was complicit.
I rarely even shut the door with a female employee and never ever locked it. Also had a former First Sergeant tell me he removed the door from his office as a Drill Sergeant so there could be no allegations.
She took her shirt off for him!
I believe that this I the same network that once ran I spy starring bill Cosby.
It has been alleged that NBC has a sexual misbehavior cleanup crew.
If that is so and proof comes out than NBC should be shut down permanently for i criminal illegalities.
Yes. Agreed.
These office types have too much energy and free time to think about things they want to do. Talking, talking, thinking you are special and powerful and people accommodate and enable your every whim. Toxic environment. Similar kind of job in politics. Proverbs 16:27-29 “Idle hands are the devils workshop; idle lips are his mouthpiece. An evil man sows strife; gossip separates the best of friends. Wickedness loves companyand leads others into sin.” This is TLB translation. It is different from other versions but I like the emphasis.
I’m sure he had some nice trophies for outstanding journalism in his office that could have been cracked on his head.
There is nothing in the article about why she passed out. Was she drinking or on drugs? Seems strange that such an important detail was left out.
Why is it only being reported that she was married.
Isn’t Lauer also married? With children?
it is coerced sex not necessarily illegal, but certainly immoral and repulsive appears it was a problem at the workplace/work environment and ignored by management

“Today” is worth $500 million a year to NBC.
So are you saying you don’t believe the allegations and that you think NBC was in error to fire Lauer?
Totally bizarre. Unless Laur was choking her, but then surely she would have added that detail.
I despise Lauer, but this story is just a little too difficult to believe. She unbuttoned her blouse at his request? She did not leave the company until a year later?
That’s what I was thinking.
A lot of you are operating under a mis-conception. You keep saying the woman consented when she unbuttoned her blouse. Not true.
If a bad guy hold a gun on you and tells you to open the garage door and then he takes your car, did you consent to him stealing your car? Think about it.
Woman is in a locked room with her boss. He has the power to pick up the phone and end her career. He says “ Unbutton your blouse.” Woman does so, not thinking for one second that a few open buttons means impending rape. Think about it.
2001?
This scumbag has gotten away with this crap for 16 years or more?
They, NBC suits, HAD TO HAVE KNOWN.
They are just as guilty as accomplices...............................
Husband didn’t do anything-——— New York men must not be like they used to be. Just sayin’.
