A New York Doctor was found murdered shortly after reporting a breakthrough discovery in the cure for cancer.
Dr. Miguel Crespos body was found in the bathroom of the Weill Cornell Medical Center on the Upper East Side where he worked, after having gone missing for several hours.
Police initially thought that Dr. Crespo had committed suicide by drug overdose after they found vomit next to his body and foaming at his mouth.
However, close friends and family say his death is suspicious, noting that Dr. Crespo had just made an exciting discovery in the field of cancer research and was unlikely to want to end his life at this pivotal stage in his career.
Crespo earned his doctoral degree at the Complutense University of Madrid and was researching a cure for colon cancer at the hospital.
Starting his research in 2011 in the UES stem cell lab, Dr. Crespos team had recently made a breakthrough discovery, according to one of the hospitals staff;
He was working late almost every night and seemed really excited. He said he had made an amazing breakthrough.
The hospitals spokeswoman, Sarah Smith, told the New York Daily News:
Weill Cornell Medicine is saddened by the death of our colleague Miguel Crespo, Ph.D.
We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
Daily Mail reports: Away from the hospital, Crespo was a part-time photographer and graphic designer.
On his website, his mission statement reads: Throughout my life, I have relentlessly strived to capture the beauty in things I always felt the world has yet to discover windows, shadows, reflections, the magic in the velvety light that projects on our eyes, he wrote on his photo design website.
I have always been mesmerized by the compassion, the emotion, and the meaning somebodys look can convey and inspire.
One of his neighbors Xoey Lee, 38, told NYDN he did not appear seem ill and said: Hes always polite. He always says, Hi.
Maybe he really had a cure/treatment and some pharmaceutical firm decide that the cost of a hit was less than the cost of the cure.
Looks pretty young. < |:(~
It’s a business. Billions spent every year on it. Can’t have someone come along and say that you can cure it with a $5 herb, now can you?
Wait for the autopsy
Too much money in treating it. Cure it and lots of money would be gone. You don’t mess with big pharma money. Just sayin’.
Dont ever cross Big Pharma by finding a cure of one of their biggest money making diseases.
Agree to big to fail program never gives up.
Godfather: Its a business
Too much money in fundraising too. Hate to be that cynical but.......
Or maybe he lied about it and committed suicide rather than be embarrassed by the truth. Conspiracy theorizing can cut both ways.
“Wait for the autopsy”
Of all groups, Big Pharma can certainly come up with an undetectable poison. There’s always the old standbys like ricin, acetylcholine, curare, air bubble etc.
Never piss off people who make poisons for a living......................
These guys are pretty anal about record keeping...
Here’s a more likely scenario...
He discovered he didn’t really have a cure after all and lost it.
In a case like this, I wouldn't trust the autopsy report.
Oh sure thing because all medical examiners are corrupt
Or maybe he had an opiate drug problem and accidentally overdosed. The vomiting in the bathroom is consistent with heroin overdose.
I’ve read lately of people mysteriously dying who preach a natural approach and speak out against the big pharmas and the meds. that are prescribed.
What did Big Pharma know, and when did they know it?
Big Pharma don’t allow no cures. What would they do with all that useless expensive chemo they have laying around?
