A San Marcos man sentenced on child sexual abuse charges Monday received double life sentences, in addition to more than 1,000 years in prison. Robert Benjamin Franks, 39, was convicted on multiple counts after harming two children, one of whom was a family member, over a number of years... The jury deliberated for about an hour Monday before returning a guilty verdict on all 17 counts. The punishment deliberations lasted a little more than two hours... The two continuous sexual abuse charges each had a life sentence. Each of the nine counts of aggravated sexual assault had 99-year sentences, and each of the six counts of indecency with a child had 20 year sentences. Franks is also supposed to pay a $93,000 fine.

He’ll be out on good behavior in 600...
So, which district does he represent? /s
Hope he’s ugly. That’s a lot of anal sex.
I’ve never understood a sentence beyond life. To me 1000 years is just plain dumb. I mean, what do they do when he croaks in 50 years? Do they have special cells filled with coffins for those serving sentences beyond life? Or is this a legal gimmick to thwart possible parole?
IMO, they should just say life without parole. Then accidentally have him fall off a ledge with a safety rope tied around his neck so he won’t get hurt.
Sounds like a day in the life of the perfect muslim and founder of islam...
San Marcos equivalent of a democrat?
Good one!
To me 1000 years is just plain dumb.
*************
Are you saying that all the other convictions beyond life should not count?
If I was a victim I’d want my sentence charge applied. No he can’t live long
enough to serve all the time but at least each victim had their day in court
and sentences made.
The thousand-year sentence or multiple life sentences are necessary - but not necessarily sufficient - to prevent the system’s letting him out before he dies.
The leftist prosecutor should have asked for a change of venue - to Texas!

Well, one reason is so if one or two counts would get tossed on appeal there is still plenty of time on the other counts to keep him in jail for the rest of his life. It also prohibits his chance to get out on parole in situations where he might otherwise be eligible.
Or Washington. Franken is still in office AND we have photo evidence of him assaulting women.
And of Biden groping little girls.
Then senator Sessions swatting away Biden's hands
I no lawyer, but I bet that is why they did it.
And how do you collect 93000 bucks from someone who is in prison?
1000 Years, we won’t be seeing him for a while. He’d have to live longer than Mehuselah to even consider parole.
