It's been 19 days since Rand Paul was attacked by a neighbor while mowing his lawn. And on Wednesday, the story got even stranger as the wife of the Kentucky Republican Senator wrote a piece for CNN detailing the extent of the injuries he suffered in the attack.
"There have been several nights where I had my hand on my phone ready to call 911 when his breathing became so labored it was terrifying," writes Kelley Paul of her husband.
What's even more striking is how Kelley Paul describes the attack -- and the motive behind it...
In the immediate aftermath of the Nov. 3 attack at Paul's home in Kentucky, several neighbors spoke out to CNN and other national news sites, insisting that it was the boiling point of a long-running dispute over flora and fauna. "A neighbor who did not want to be identified said the two have been 'quibbling' over yard waste for years," CNN wrote on Nov. 7. A statement by a lawyer for Rene Boucher, the man who tackled Paul, seemed to affirm that story...
So, what the heck actually happened -- and more importantly why? Why would someone who had been a longtime neighbor of Paul's suddenly snap and inflict serious damage on him? Why is there so much effort to push totally contradictory explanations of the incident and what motivated it? We are dealing with a US Senator who was viciously attacked at his home. Boucher pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault earlier this month, making it more likely there will be a trial at which we may finally get this mystery solved.
What gives? What really happened? How do we not know this yet?

Proof Positive the media doesn't WANT to "find" the details....
its all unacceptable
There was hormones at play here I don’t care who did what to who

This was not about yard trimmings
This was personal, very personal. Consider that both are neighbors, both are doctors, familys live next door to each other. That the charge is, well, very minor, also substantiates that this was simply a personal matter that very likely Paul does not want aired in public. Otherwise hed be screaming for felony charges. A little adultry is just one idea. Lots of others. Offer some speculation instead of trashing us here on FR. Maybe also disclose your relationship to Rand Paul, how about it?
That could be the real deal. Somebody...call the cops?
That's how I feel too...
Sad to say I am similarly inclined. At least we have a bona-fide Freedom Caucus member here in NM-2 FTTB but he is running for Gov. next year (hoping to succeed the completely unaccomplished alleged Republican Susana Martinez) and leaving the House. I don't have good feelings for anyone who has announced for the seat on the GOP side (while on the Dem. side it seems their challenge will be keeping their candidates out of jail).
It is a truly sad state of affairs.
It was 43’s fault...
Boucher was paid to attack Paul.
Who’s paying for Boucher’s lawyer?
Left wing groups have been ambushing and killing a lot of police lately as well.
Obama did not miss an opportunity to provide motivational hatred, and even constructed financial and organizational support, for all socialist organizations, while at the same time, populating/weaponizing the JD, FBI, IRS, etc... with socialist ideologue’s who would support left wing causes, and attack conservatives simultaneously.
Not yet, anyway.
My guess is that Reid and Paul EACH got bashed on behalf of some angry campaign megadonor who didn’t get what they wanted for their money.
The last century supports your hypothesis.
I once had a Chinese History professor, brag that Chairman Mao, was even greater than Stalin because Mao proved his greatness by eliminating between 91-93 Million people, which was more than the total eliminated from Lenin through Stalin.
This guy was proud of Chairman Mao Tse Tung.
He was the second history prof to claim such a number or higher for Mao Tse Tung.
If these professors were correct, it would mean the actual number of people killed or deliberately starved to death by their socialist/communist leaders in the last century was likely between 175-185 million.
It is hard to pin down.
However, secular humanistic socialists in our western society today, ARE (NOW) ABSOLUTELY PROVING they are every bit as militant, and would do the exact same if given the opportunity to eliminate those who do not believe in their global authoritarian/totalitarian objectives.
The only differences today, our global population is significantly greater, and the weapon systems employed would be much more decisive. As well, in the US we still have a large armed segment of population which is armed.
On the other hand, in the US, even many who identify as left wing socialists are armed. When one recognizes secular left wing Americans do not adhere to moral boundaries, a reasonable person would conclude the armed left wing becomes even more dangerous.
Churches, police, conservative political members, and conservative leaning venues, have been targets of vastly increasing left wing attacks of late, leaving behind death and carnage.
AND those involved from the left have carried out these attacks with little to no negative media response! In many cases, the conservative targets were even mocked by member of the media, after the mass murders were carried out, and or the same left wing used these mass casualty events to intensify calls for the formal elimination of our Constitution!
Yet, socialists in America today claim the bloodshed carried out by socialist of the past just did not properly adhere to basic principles of Marxism.
**At the very same time, even without being in total power quite yet, humanist and socialists are already moving a large percentage of our electorate toward a very real left wing controlled democide, of all who do not espouse their anti-God socialist world view!
They will burn books, rip down statues, replace history with propaganda, divide society through the use of PSYOPS campaigns (relying heavily on mockery of Christians and conservative beliefs, and dividing demographics), attack the law and its law enforcement officers, and eventually, if given opportunity, literally kill all who do not support them.
History appears to be getting closer to repeating itself around the world!
As FDR stated, nothing in politics happens by accident. That was an assassination attempt. I have no doubts.
It would be really interesting to get all phone records, all internet conversations, and all bank accounts. The Leftists have always hated Rand Paul and his father. It is a wonder that they are alive and not like most people who get a platform and find themselves like Scalia and Andrew Breitbart and Michael Hastings, etc., etc., etc.
In my lifetime no one has tried to overthrow a party from within. Tea party started but was betrayed by liars. A third party has proven an unviable route. Art 5 convention is governed by amendment rules of the constitution.
Satire is totally lost on you, I see.
It would be naive to think that there was no agenda that caused this attack, look at the facts from the Wash.Examiner.:
.......................
The Bowling Green, Ky., neighbor who allegedly attacked Sen. Rand Paul last weekend, causing six broken ribs, was aggressively anti-Trump and anti-GOP in his social media, calling for the impeachment of the president and urging special counsel Robert Mueller to fry Trumps gonads.
Captured screenshots of Rene Bouchers Facebook page provided to Secrets and taken down since the event also show that the anesthesiologist was a fan of the #NeverTrump clan.
Boucher’s lawyer said that politics played no part and it has been suggested that the two verbally tussled over lawn clippings, leaving the impression that the Republican Kentucky senator was a negligent landscaper.

But seven neighbors in the Rivergreen gated community told Secrets Wednesday that the Pauls are friendly homeowners who kept their property tidy.
The Pauls’ landscaping looks just like everyones place in Rivergreen. Wish I could get him to cut my lawn, said neighbor Robert Warner. As a friend, neighbor and senator, Rand has been first class in every way. What I find amazing is the fact that he cuts his own grass. Our neighborhood is fortunate that the Pauls live here, he added.
Social media page grab of Rene Boucher.
All seven neighbors expressed shock at the scary attack on Paul as he was doing yard work last Saturday and they dismissed reports that it was the result of poor landscaping. However, they are puzzled about why Boucher, 59, allegedly tackled Paul, 54, who was wearing ear plugs at the time. Boucher has been charged with assault.
The stories of a landscaping dispute or a dispute of any sort between Rand Paul and Rene Boucher are erroneous and unfounded. The reason for Mr. Bouchers bizarre attack is known only to him. Statements to the contrary are irresponsible and unnecessary, said neighbor Travis Creed.
He added: Speculation regarding Bouchers motive has led to an unfair characterization of the Pauls and their home. The Pauls are and always have been great neighbors and friends. They take pride in their property and maintain it accordingly. Rand has enjoyed working on and maintaining his lawn for as long as I have known him.
Another neighbor, Dan Renshaw, owner of a large car sales group, told us, This episode is so wrong on so many levels, to be absolutely blindsided and attacked while mowing ones lawn. I cant imagine being in my yard pulling weeds or mowing and being totally attacked by anyone, much less my neighbor? Its hard to believe he was out of jail the next morning on a $7,500 bail.
He took note that the attack wasnt on any neighbor, but a U.S. senator. What kind of individual does this? Its scary when it hits this close to home, to friends or neighbors, said Renshaw.
Renshaw also dismissed the speculation that the fight was over landscaping. Their lawn is always mowed. Its such a lame excuse. That could have killed Rand if a rib had punctured a lung, or worse yet, the heart. Just no excuse for this type of behavior from adults. Especially educated adults.
Paul on Wednesday tweeted that his condition included six broken ribs and excess fluid around his lungs.
Neighbor Alicia Stivers express shock at the violence of the attack. I have never heard Sen. Paul speak an unkind word about anyone, let alone become physically violent. Which makes it all the more shocking that a next-door neighbor of many years who has not so much as exchanged an email or spoken word with Rand in several years, would race downhill and pummel Rand from behind.”
Stivers said she has served four years on the neighborhood association and said that there were no reports of problems between Paul or Boucher. I am wondering how the media can describe what took place as an altercation. Is it an altercation when no words are exchanged and one person is attacked from behind with no warning? I must check my dictionary.”
Ditto from Rina Malmquist, the current Rivergreen homeowners association president.
And neighbors Kevin and Diona Kelly told of how Paul and his wife Kelley are friendly neighbors who even include them in their annual Paul Family Football Game at the holidays.
It is here that Rand and his family welcome any and all neighbors, whether you choose to be a player, a cheerleader or a self-appointed referee you are part of a team. It is here that we join to catch up on our busy lives, to reminisce about our many afternoons at the lake and to reacquaint ourselves with the simple task of being neighborly, they said.

James Madison wrote at length about ‘factions’, what we call political parties. Political parties exist to serve the interests of their members. To the extent that they do what is right for the nation is a distant concern.
Our Framers were very well aware of the detrimental influence of political parties. Madison wrote of two solutions. The first was to establish an authoritarian government that persecuted all dissent. The second was to design a government that minimized their effects.
Parties set up right after ratification of the Constitution. They developed in the 19th century and came to dominate congressional, senatorial and presidential nomination processes. BUT the Framers design, especially a senate of the states, minimized the harm done by parties.
That all flew out the window with passage of the 17th Amendment. No longer did the structure of government minimize the effect of political parties. Over the course of a hundred years, two nominally distinct factions have melded into essentially one interest, and that interest has nothing to do with the general welfare. The democrat and pubbie wings of the Uniparty have far more in common than their public rhetoric suggests.
We see it all the time as the GOP leadership clearly prefers more democrats in government than Tea Party or Trumpian usurpers.
Like the two-dimensional characters in Edwin Abbot’s “Flatland,” too many of us cannot imagine a third dimension. Yet, the Framers spelled it out to us in Article V. The people’s sovereignty has been stolen. Thieves do not willingly return stolen goods. It is up to us to think outside of the two-dimensional framework of Uniparty government, which cannot possibly restore our nation to free government.
I, too, pray that I am horribly mistaken but fear that I am not.
