When the thing your company is named for is no longer selling all that well, that's a big problem. Just ask Campbell Soup, which reported lousy earnings Tuesday because of weak soup sales. Shares of Campbell Soup (CPB) plunged more than 7% after the food giant said that soup sales in the U.S. fell 9% from a year ago. The company also lowered its earnings outlook for fiscal 2018.

2 daddies commercial...another good reason not to buy it. I quite because of the price.
It is so simple to make your own soup, not to mention more delicious and nutritious. Whip up a big pot and freeze the extra for a later date.
So much sodium in everything. I don’t know why. But my point is they kowtowed to 3% and are paying the price.
Mixing soup and politics is not a wise move. Soup is an institution. You have to actually try hard to muck it up.
Progresso recently had some GREAT coupons. I got several cans really cheap. Good soup too!
And their soups have so much sodium that I refuse to buy their products!
Too many variations on the theme, it’s hard to find regular don’t screw with it cream of mushroom when the aisle in inundated with low fat, low cal, low salt, old fashioned... Eventually you see the real stuff, way down at the bottom hidden like they’re ashamed of it. And it’s mostly empty because that’s the only version people actually want.
I think lots of companies are into subtle and not so subtle social engineering. I haven’t seen the Campbell’s soup 2 daddies commercial but I have seen a Tide white husband/black wife, Clearblue Easy white husband/black wife and an Ikea lesbian commercial. Why are these companies targeting a miniscule group of buyers?
Oh gross.
Salt. You nailed it.
The excessive salt content in Campbell’s Soup makes it taste terrible.
It’s the creative people at the Ad agencies... Like Hollywood writers often gay always lib.
Home made soup, for me! Not hard to do and I know what goes into it!
I start with Progesso lentil soup, add tons of chopped vegetables, microwave, and add fresh spice. Use 2 or 3 cans of lentil soup a week now.
I forgot why I’m boycotting Campbells Soup and Home Depot....but, I still do.
....Also, Kelloggs.
I cannot believe I shorted CPB stock about 62 (using puts) early in the year...it is an extremely boring stock that generally does not move much.....those puts expired worthless or I exited at a loss, cannot recall. Up at 62 the stock had a PE of almost 30....against a market norm of 15-17. For soup. Yeah, soup.
Same here. I guess there are a lot more of us, huh?
Hah! I personally knew Soupy and his wife in his later years.
