Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Monday called it sad that President Trump did not make human rights a priority during his meeting with Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte.
The White House said the two leaders briefly discussed human rights in the context of Dutertes drug crackdown, but the Philippine presidents spokesman said the issue was not discussed.
Since taking office in 2016, Duterte has carried out a war on drugs, which has led to thousands of killings of suspected drug dealers and users, according to Human Rights Watch.
Trump praised Duterte at an Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit, saying the two have had a great relationship. He later laughed when Duterte referred to members of the press as spies, according to a reporter traveling with Trump.
McCain, who has been an outspoken critic of Trump, also ripped the president on Saturday for ignoring human rights violations during his stop in Danang, Vietnam.
McCain was captured and tortured by the North Vietnamese during the Vietnam War.
Is McCain the Leader of the Opposition (Democratic Party), their mouth piece ? He does attack Trump more than they do
He seems pretty perky for someone going through radiation and chemo.
Which begs the question...
Well said, and McCain never has had one.
McCain hates Trump because he is giving the US citizens their last chance to keep their country.
There has been a 30 year plan put in place to steal the country by importing foreigners.
The final amnesty that would cement the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA) into place has been sought repeatedly since 2006. They sold us Rubio to get the last one in 2013.
We have been prevented from electing anyone who would side with US and the rule of law.
Trump had the wealth and fame to break through the Bush blockade at the RNC.
The most important thing to the Uniparty is protecting the demographic changes they have made to the country against the will of the citizens.
That’s what drives the NeverTrump, the media and the Democrats hatred of Trump, it is an extension of their hatred of US.

I wish I could hit McCain.
“Didnt McCain take selfies with actual ISIS terrorists?”
Exactly. McCain was supporting ISIS and he could give a whit about human rights as long as they were fighting Assad. How many innocent people died in the Middle East because of McCain?
Isn’t this the guy that was helping aiding the members of ISIS.
That’s for sure.
McCain is short.
5.56mm
McCain...also ripped the president on Saturday for ignoring human rights violations during his stop in Danang, Vietnam.

Where was McCain on “human rights violations” when he and Scary Kerry pushed to successfully declare all POWs/MIAs dead, and close the books on further investigation? This led to normalizing trade relations with Vietnam. I’ll always wonder how much those two slimes got under the table for that.
Some of us here were friends and acquaintances of those they abandoned, and some of us will not forget.
Chemo brain speaks again.
I’m ashamed that I voted for this freakshow to be president.
Well.....Jonny Ole Boy....you might have a little point there......but seriously dude....what about all the guns and money you had sent to you Syrian Freedom Fighters who ended up violating the rights of millions of Syrians and Iraqis ? Should you not excuse yourself from commenting on human rights abuse.
At least their country has a plan to win the war on drugs and if they continue, they will win. We dont! Our drug dealers and users have rights, even though they cause massive harm to the rest of us. We have become so politically correct that we dare not hurt their feelings. Human Rights Watch needs to consider the rights of those who are not drug dealers and users. Unless there are harsh punishments for drug dealers the war on drugs will never be won. If the Senator from Arizona has a solution for the war on drugs, bring it on. I dont believe there a solution for human rights globally. Our way of life doesnt conform to other areas, nor theirs to ours. We should consider ourselves fortunate to have the freedoms we have. To continually criticize our President is not what he was sent to Washington to do.
Extradite the globalist quisling to answer for war crimes in Iraq and Syria.
That cancer is too slow.
I like the way you think.
