Live Election Report From Virginia

Posted on 11/07/2017 10:38:40 AM PST by SarahPalin2012

I just voted in SW Virginia. Rural area, goes usually about 58-42 for the good guys (or at least the less-evil guys). More cars than usual for off year elections but no real wait inside. This was about noon. I'd guess that it was half of 2016 (Trump), and about equal to when Cuccinelli lost a very close race without any establishment help in 2013 to McAuliffe. Although the Dems have an edge in VA now, I still think it is very winnable for Republicans. My hope is that we pull out a win in a close election. For those conservatives sitting out because Gillespie is kind of gutless, I know you won't listen but it still needs to be said. You are not helping.

If McSally leaves, it will be to run for the Senate seat McFlake is vacating in AZ. She would run as the GOP-E antidote to Kelli Ward. Independents get to vote in the primary in AZ, so getting a real conservative in could be a challenge.

The district she would vacate leans GOP, but narrowly.

Any chance the Republicans will have lots of poll observers to spot cheating?

Va. Beach is no longer GOP territory. At best, it is 50/50.

At this point, I don't care if Gillespie is colorless, RINOish....whatever-ish.

If he wins, the psychological effect of his victory across the fruited plain will be enormous, and President Trump will benefit to the max.

New Jersey will undoubtedly elect a RAT governor, but then, that's expected on both sides....and the result in NJ will have little to no effect on the MAGA movement.

However, if Gillespie wins in Virginia, it will create positive energy, high excitement and many benefits to the GOP in the ensuing four year term.

To boot, the President will know how to handle Gillespie to the benefit of his administration and his policies....and Ed will owe him big time for his endorsement.

See y'all for a Gillespie victory party tonight on the pages of FR !

Voted at 4:25 p.m. at Sarah’s Creek precinct in Gloucester Point - very conservative area — I was #909. Decent turnout today.

Nope, not a false flag, but yes, it was so ridiculous and over the top, its understandable to have thought it was... but nope... left wingers were worried about depressed “latino” turnout... so figured this would motivate them... instead it GALVANIZED the one group democrats need to stay home if they want to win.....Patriotic Americans.

I don’t think the advantage in Fairfax is quite that big. And this is an odd numbered year. As I said, a rat has A 3 to 5 point lead just for breathing.

Northam hasn’t made hay. Periello would have won this hands down.

That crossover primary voting carp is the ruin of many conservative candidates.

Yes, Gillespie himself does not matter, but it will trigger the hell out of the Rats.

I don’t know. I never heard of him before this election but he’s got to be better than Mark Herring.

I do agree, that Gillespie pulling out VA, even if it is IN SPITE OF HIMSELF, which it absolutely will be, will demoralize the left further... however the flip side is that GOPe will think that a GOPe guy can win... which will continue the internal resistance within the GOP establishment to the MAGA agenda and candidates.

It was a squeaker last year but a lot of Never Trump types didn't show up or voted for Hillary. But DJT still carried the city. It's still pretty solidly GOP, even if a big part of that is GOPe.
