Japan might be routinely hailed as one of the best places in the world for food but that has not inspired Donald Trump to deviate from his strict all-American diet, Independent reported.
There was not a trace of ramen, sushi or tempura on President Trumps plate at a casual lunch with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Sunday.
The billionaire property developer instead relished in eating a hamburger sourced from American beef during his first trip to Japan as President.
Mr Trump chose to have his burger well-done as he has become so famed for doing with his steaks.
President Trump played golf with Mr Abe at the Kasumigaseki Country Club - alongside professional golfer Hideki Matsuyama - on his first day in the country. According to an excerpt from the book Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J Trump, during a trip to Japan back in 1990 Mr Trump said he would not eat "f***ing raw fish" and instead devoured a hamburger at McDonald's which cheered him up massively.
“You are learning!”
Learning how crazy you’re willing to get about such a trivial thing.
You couldn’t help it that you didn’t know “grass fed” is a con.
We don't buy hamburger or even ground chuck. We have the butcher grind the chuck roast to order. There is a big difference.
I think having a dog is a great stress reliever and if you go on long walks with the dog, you can have all the eggs and bacon you want. And butter! Remember that margarine scam? Margarine is about the worst thing you can put into your body. Real butter is much, much better.
My cholesterol has been under 200 for years and I eat all the beef, butter and eggs that I want!
Don't believe the health nazis. They do not know what is good for you.
I usually munch on one while fixing one up as the fully dressed burger.
It was pretty much as I remembered it.
Again, pretty disgusting of liberals ridiculing the President over the whole embarrassing event.
Excellent! I agree with that.
I've never had Japanese food, except for the "sushi" in a Chinese buffet. Given free time and free access in Japan, I'd probably be eating something every waking moment.
My theory is that all Japanese food is based on a dare. :-)
I hate to burst everyone's bubbles but the idea of kobe burgers is a joke and a waste of money.
Kobe is special because of the exquisite marbling throughout the beef which makes it tender and juicy. ANY beef becomes tender if you grind it and ANY ground beef becomes juicy if the fat content is high enough.
A buddy of mine told me about a business trip he took to Japan. A street vendor was breading and frying live eels the size of French fries. He said they tasted incredible.
When boneless chuck roast is on sale it's even cheaper than that factory-ground lord-knows-what's-in-it they call hamburger.
My goodness, it’s like reading my own writing.
We have grilled lamburger before and it's very tasty.
I’m hungry.
I sitting on the bed, reading this thread after dinner, and thinking the same thing!
And we had roast tri tip, with mushrooms and potatoes.
What isn’t being mentioned is that Abe was also having a burger and both had fries. Also not mentioned is the ketchup and mustard (Heinz) on the table. Also not mentioned is both were having a coke.
You couldnt help it that you didnt know grass fed is a con.
= = = = = = = = = =
Is that up there with the likes one hour martinizing? (Kramer)
This is so stupid. The Secret Service doesn’t allow the president to eat the locally prepared food anyway. Even if Trump had eaten Japanese food, it would have been prepared by chefs brought with him from the US. These morons really have to try hard to find something to criticize.
Grass fed is not a con. It tastes different than grain fed beef. I actually prefer grain fed for most cuts. (Steaks, other quick roasting meat) For low and slow stuff the grass fed is my preference (Fore quarter, ox tail, brisket... etc.)
Do an A/B comparison for yourselves if you do not believe me. In the taste department grass fed is different than grain fed.
Make sure your grass fed sample is not pasture raised feed lot finished which is what typically is passed off as grass fed. That is a con. Tastes the same as grain fed.
