Democratic power lobbyist Tony Podesta, founder of the Podesta Group, is stepping down from the lobbying shop that bears his name after coming under investigation by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller.
Podesta announced his decision during a firm-wide meeting Monday morning and is alerting clients of his impending departure.
Podesta is handing over full operational and financial control to longtime firm CEO Kimberley Fritts, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the meeting. Fritts and a senior group of the Podesta team will be launching a new firm in the next one or two days. Sources said the transition has been in the works for the past several months.

Podesta is retiring so he can spend more time with his family in some country with no extradition treaty with the US.

He indicts Manafort just as the Trump dossier and UraniumOne stories are beginning to gain traction. That's an interesting observation but I think it could be the other way around. Perhaps the Uranium One and Trump dossier stories began hitting the fan because the indictments were pending?
There's a strong possibility that the timing of the indictments was really based on statutes of limitations that were going to expire soon. I say this because the indictment documents include references to alleged tax fraud and mortgage fraud that weren't included in the charges -- probably because the statutes of limitations on those charges have already expired.

Has Podesta gone “missing” yet? If not, I expect he will.

Larry,
Kindly include we with your growing ping list.
Also, any reason not to think that the Podesta boys have not had ample time to destroy evidence? Seems that unlike Manafort, Tony has avoided the dreaded “early morning raid”.

I mean really. What person wants to walk into their home and gaze at this sculpture? Looking at provocative and unusual art in a museum? Absolutely. But choosing to live with it at home?
