Utterly disgusting.
Bookmark under insanity.
There you go. It was never just about confederate statues.
I’m all for tearing down slave monuments like the irs building, the federal reserve, and the DoEd. When do the bulldozers roll out to those locations? Oh yeah.....never
Just my opinion, but if you aren’t getting people to come to the church, maybe you ought to be examining your sermons and how you are connecting to people, rather than what plaques may be on the walls.
Very sad story. George Washington should be celebrated but the lets hate america crowd wins again
Despicable is a good word.
Utterly disgusting. Despicable. My country tis of thee, sweet land of Liberty, of thee I cry.
I cry because even G. Washington doesn’t get earned respect. Sad
Hear, hear. My experience is that if you take a principled stand and stand by it, the people will come. If you're mealy-mouthed and wishy washy, nobody is going to follow you. Taking these things down exemplifies a lack of leadership, and will make things worse for their attendance, not better.
They're supposed to provide spiritual leadership, guidance and teaching. Nobody wants a leader that blows with the wind and can't make a decision. Not in any sphere of leadership.
I am with you, it makes me very angry.
Initially it will be all honorific statues and portraits of white males. Oh yeah, just saying that triggers me.
Is “fake outrage” the opposite of forgiveness?
I recently learned that narcissists view compassion by others as a weakness in them, an opening to manipulate them. Is that what is happening to our country?
Are we being manipulated by our compassion for others? Is the “You offend me” statement just another form of manipulation of compassionate human beings?
I’m having compassion fatigue for the perpetual victims.
Not only is it despicable, but it signals that Christianity as an institution, is coming to an end in America.
That church is cursed. Satan has taken control of it.
I attend this church. They hang a sign saying that everyone is welcome out in front. It blatant hypocrisy.
The Rev. Noelle York-Simmons, rector of the church
The Episcopalian Church is no longer Christian. Theyve turned their backs on Gods teachings and embraced the unrepentant sodomites and adulterers. George Washington would have condemned such evil.
I go to this church and the attendance has gone down and down because they have become more liberal and political. They clergy are now all women who act like democrat activists, especially Ann Gillespie, who has hate Trump messages woven into her sermons. They are hypocrites of the lowest order.
Nationally, the Episcopal Church has fallen from 2.5 to 1.9 million members in just the thirty years ending in 2010; regular Sunday attendance went from 850,000 to 650,000 in the ten years from 2000 to 2010. I wonder why.
Trump was prescient and right. Again.
It will be a mosque soon
bump
Episcopalians being Episcopalians, just as fad driven as psychologists.
