It’s Harvey Weinstein’s brother, Bob’s turn in the hot seat. The co-founder of The Weinstein Company has been slapped with sexual harassment allegations of his own, as Hollywood continues to real from bombshell after bombshell.
Variety reports:
Amanda Segel, an executive producer of “Mist,” said Weinstein repeatedly made romantic overtures to her and asked her to join him for private dinners. The harassment began in the summer of 2016 and continued on and off for about three months until Segel’s lawyer, David Fox of Myman Greenspan, informed TWC executives — including COO David Glasser — that she would leave the show if Bob Weinstein did not stop contacting her on personal matters.
“ ‘No’ should be enough,” Segel told Variety. “After ‘no,’ anybody who has asked you out should just move on. Bob kept referring to me that he wanted to have a friendship. He didn’t want a friendship. He wanted more than that. My hope is that ‘no’ is enough from now on.”
“Bob Weinstein had dinner with Ms. Segel in LA in June 2016. He denies any claims that he behaved inappropriately at or after the dinner. It is most unfortunate that any such claim has been made,” a representative for Bob Weinstein said in a statement to Variety.
Variety has more:
During the dinner, Weinstein asked Segel highly intimate questions and made romantic overtures to her, according to Segel. He wanted to know her age because he told her he didn’t want to date anyone younger than his daughter. He told Segel that he was staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel because his daughter was staying at his home in Los Angeles.

I don’t agree with you.
I believe in the pursuit of happiness AND the happiness of pursuit but, when there are strings attached, such as a job or promotion and the suitor is informed and aware that the pursuit is unwelcome, it is sexual harassment and a perversion. It should not be done in the workplace or any business environment or relationship.
bob gets his just deserts, he probably leaked the story to the times to begin with...
“Romantic overtures” and invitations to “private dinners” are now harassment?
I guess I’d better turn myself in and get into therapy pronto....
Dad: Hey son, wanna watch the game?
Son: Aw dad, nobody watches reeeal football anymore, kids today only like VReal football!!! Yay!
Seriesly, the competitive video gaming channels on youtube and such are sooo popular that you’re probably right on the money.
I don’t think Bob Weinstein plotted this whole debacle with his brother, but rather exploited it to get rid of him. Sort of like Cain and Abel, one destroying the other out of jealousy.
Until now, everyone was afraid of Harvey Weinstein. Hollywood had been effectively silenced, But once he grew older and his company was losing power and influence, everyone is jumping onto the bandwagon.
Sickening hypocrisy. Hollywood, least of all Bob Weinstein, doesn’t give a damn about the women victimized. Hollywood only reacted out of embarrassment and opportunism. Everyone who did little more than shake hands with Harvey Weinstein is now virtue-signaling.
While I don’t condone Harvey Weinstein’s behavior, I don’t applaud his brother’s, either. Looks like Harvey is going to put up a fight; if he has to go down, he’ll make sure to take everyone with him. His company is doomed, anyway — like Apple, it relied on his vision and charisma.
Not for immoral hypocrites.
Good point. While one must never shame or blame the victim, one must also remember: actors are crazy, and lie for a living.
Swine of a pigskin...
WARNING: The Dems sacrificed Weinstein because they’re using scandal to attack President Trump.
Notice they won’t turn against Bill Clinton too.
Perhaps not. But they definitely make anti-Christian movies.

It only hurts the first time.
They become "temple prostitutes." Pre-Christian paganism, which, ironically, Judaism historically broke new ground by forbidding.
Deuteronomy 23:17 No Israelite man or woman is to become a shrine prostitute. 18 You must not bring the earnings of a female prostitute or of a male prostitute into the house of the Lord your God to pay any vow, because the Lord your God detests them both.
Pre-Christian paganism is taking over sports too. Expect the Greek ideal of erastes - eromenos relationships to become routine in sports.
I think I’m on to something. The initial ‘test’ of sex with someone like Weisntein is just a filter. Remove those that aren’t willing to give up everything to be rich and famous. Once a person is in the club, they will say whatever they are told to say. This is a huge piece in the puzzle.
People like Weinstein are also used by people even higher up the food chain.
Notice they wont turn against Bill Clinton too.
Bingo. When sexual overtures are unwanted or unwelcome and there is employment involved, it becomes coercion and intimidation.
Let's say you are a straight man. Your company is an equal employment model firm, and as it happens, your boss is a gay man. Your boss makes several invitations to you for private dinners. You decline, but he continues to ask. He drops hints that he is not happy that you are declining his invitaions.
Do you feel harassed?
Are you just a bigot, and you should go out with him?
Except that Apple is very successful. It makes many more things than laptops.
See post 57.
Ok. Per the article Bob Weinstein backed off when the actress made it clear to him that his advances were unwanted.
I'm not seeing a case of sexual harassment here. Bad judgement, perhaps.
