Bannon's move to purge GOP may backfire
The Hill ^ | October 17th, 2017 | BY BRENT BUDOWSKY

While President Trump claims that his relations with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) have never been better and while Stephen K. Bannon continues his war against McConnell and a long list of Republican Senators, we will learn whether Bannon is fronting for Trump or acting against him.

If Bannon does not end his attacks against incumbent GOP senators, we will know that he is colluding with the president, who is dividing Republicans — and all Americans — against each other and endangering GOP control of the Senate.

In the 10th month of the Trump presidency, the Republican Congress still has not passed one major piece of legislation proposed by the Republican president, public disapproval of Congress stands at levels that should be alarming to all incumbent Republican senators, and the president and GOP leaders in the House and Senate all suffer from abnormally high levels of disapproval.

Bannon is bidding to become the most powerful Republican in America by seeking to promote primary challenges against key Republicans in Congress, including possible primary challenges against every incumbent Republican senator running for reelection in 2018 except Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

It may backfire. It may not. But losing weak GOP Senators isn’t a bad thing, in the medium and long run, even if it is in the short run.

Nothing to lose.

He’s an “Institutional Democrat” as reference in my post #1 above.

Both Institutional Republicans and Institutional Democrats are pulling out all the stops to undermine Steve Bannon. And, as you posted, even China is warning about him.

He is OBVIOUSLY on the right track. Over target and they are feeling pain.

dividing Republicans — and all Americans — against each other and endangering GOP GOP-E control of the Senate

Having seen what fruit GOP-E control of the Senate bears ... it could use a little more endangering.

At this point that might be a risk worth taking.

The risk is actually quite small since even if we lose a few seats, the GOPe Senator will be history...and there is little the Republicans have done to further our cause.

As for Judges, Trump can still make the nominations he sees fit and stand pat.

No compromise.

Fill the seat with a Trump nominee or it goes unfilled for the duration of his time in office.

No loss.

Don’t weaken and adopt the fear-mongering tactics of the Republicans.

According to the article, Buttinsky “was an aide to former Sen. Lloyd Bentsen (D-Texas) and former Rep. Bill Alexander (D-Ark.)”

So why would the yammerings of a once-gofer for a couple Democrat dunderheads in Washington be worth believing?

Bannon and Trump are playing Good Cop-Bad Cop with Mitch.
The end goal is to beat him into some deals.

When a fake reporter uses words like might, may or could, he is taking his anti Trump wet dreams and trying to make them into an oped. It ends up as another failed Fake News effort.

” Sen. Lloyd Bentsen (D-Texas) and former Rep. Bill Alexander (D-Ark.)”

Both of those guys would be considered ultra-Conservative Republicans today...

Getting rid of RINO pubes is the only way to strengthen the Senate... otherwise we will get democrats the same in the mind of the people who will not see a iota of difference.

Only until such time as they can unseat him.

"If Bannon were truly harming the GOP, they would be silent."

Bannon is doing far more damage to the Democrats/Rinos/Never Trumpsters from outside the WH…!

The mediots, rioting liberals and liberal mayors, who are dissing Trump 24/7, are in for some fun times from Bannon and Gorka.

There will be zero mercy on the Rinos, mediots and Never Trumpsters in Congress and Rino's like the B$tch Mitch from Bannon’s new op center.

Bannon has now entered a Free Fire Zone and will take Zero Prisoners on the Hudson and Potomac rivers.

The one big risk here is that Bannon successfully topples incumbent Republican senators in primaries, only to have his nationalist candidates lose in the general election.

Except that won't happen. Trump is proof. The opposite will happen if the GOP Free Traitor™ hack wins the primary.
