NBCs Jimmy Fallon is defending his decision to keep his show from becoming an anti-Trump crusade like other late night hosts have, saying many of the presidents words and actions are just too serious for joke fodder.
With Trump, its just like every days a new thing. He gives a lot of material. A lot of stuff is hard to even make a joke about, Fallon said in a preview of an NBC Today show interview to air Sunday. Its just too serious.
Too be sure, several late-night TV hosts have, since essentially the start of Trumps winning 2016 White House bid, made attacking and satirizing the president a big part of their monologues.

Yeah, I remember how they all made fun of Obama every night, and...
Oh ... wait a minute ... never mind.
I forgot... Kimmel, Colbert etc, all had a Liplock On Obama’s Love Porkchop.
They all had a mancrush on the Kenyan, so there was never ANYTHING funny that he did.
Quite a freeper who can enjoy Jon Stewart
I saw that right after you ridiculed us older folks who miss when TV was far less political
I’m cursed with a photog memory of freepers giving away how they really are
Just yesterday I had a revelation about someone who always says anti southern stuff
Then one little post was a big tell and all these years of his crappy posts had a root cause
It’s a curse
Better not to notice
Immaculately oblivious
I got nothing against you except Jon Stewart
And don’t forget The Great One ... Jackie Gleason.
Oh, and Jack Benny.
He has never never been on Trump’s side. He’s a phony as are the rest of those stupid nite-time commode-ians.
During the campaign I always enjoyed that skit Trump in the mirror with Jimmy Fallon dressed up exactly like his guest the real Donald. Sure was a lot of good fun and Fallon is several cuts above those leftist hacks Kimmel and Colbert.
So at least these jokers have that going for them when this is all over.
You really nailed that. Fallon has made a lot of enemies in the last two weeks.
He’s trying to back pedal. Not only is everything he says anti-Trump, his tweets insult Trump supporters. He’s like a human version of the flu, suddenly saying he isn’t contagious.
And Milton Berle.
That’s Jimmy Kimmel to to t.
Jackie Gleason
Steve Allen was my favorite talk-show host. No political crap, just fun and entertaining. One of my memories of his show is when he became a human tea bag, getting dunked in water with hundreds of tea bags attached.
First of all, some people are confusing Fallon and Kimmel. They are 2 different Jimmys. I dont watch either one.
Based on what I have heard and read elsewhere, Kimmel has gone beyond joking constantly about Trump and is now openly lecturing us peons about Obamacare and gun violence. it is worse in that he doesnt have to worry about either. His baby got the best of care his millions could buy, while some of us peons are left to deal with the scraps of higher premiums and deductibles and narrowing Dr and hospital networks.
Fallon is now grappling with this anti Trump phenomenon, trying to find middle ground where can do what he loves to do without alienating the cool club. So he will rag on Trump occasionally but the truth is it will never be enough for his left wing buddies and his NBC overlords, and they will never forgive him for normalizing TrumpHitler with the hair mussing last year.
>>>Fallon is actually a supporter of Donald Trump<<<
News to me. Have a link?
If I’m gonna stay up late it’s gonna be with FR and not late night tv as it’s practiced nowadays.
Nah. Fallon may look like a supporter compared to Colbert, Kimmel and Meyers, but he's just an apolitical guy who tells jokes.

Kimmel’s a good guy.
He also decided to lett everyone take easy jokes but, be wants his long term product to be pure entertainment.
In the vein of Johnny Carson material/ product.
You can watch Carson material today and it is funny because it’s plain funny, not topical or contemporary.
It’s funny forever...
The point of what you’re watching, is he’s making it look like he’s making fun of trump however, it’s an inside outside joke you know he’s trying to make a joke, which makes it funny
