There is only one way one! to finally and forever destroy Hollywood and much of the mainstream media. You have to cut your cable or satellite cord. You have to cancel your pay TV package. The one-legged stool propping up ESPN, CNN, MSNBC, Disney, MTV, and the entire Tinseltown crime syndicate is you paying for cable TV.
If you want to know how this scam works, read all about it here.
If you want to know what do to after you cut the cord for America, read all about it here.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but there is no single act any American can perform that will do more damage to the institutional left than to cut your cable/satellite cord. So please do so today. If that sounds like hyperbole, look at the recent news, look at what cord-cutting is already doing to Hollywood:

We went internet only several years ago. I was tired of subsidizing a bunch of crap we didn’t watch. I was just looking for an excuse and then the cable company gave me one by jacking up the price one-too-many times. Now we have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Over-the-Air, and, oh yeah, books.
Been with charter for eons, finally cut the(TV)part 3 years ago, but internet keeps going up and up...currently paying $55 month for 60M service.
From the same evil cable companies that forced you to buy bundled services.
I would probably cut the cord, but my husband wants to keep it. There are a few things we watch on cable, that we really enjoy, such as the DiscoveryID channel and college football. Why can’t we just choose which channels we want? Plus, we have the worse cable company in the nation, Mediacom, and I bet they get their contract renewed by the local pols next year. Grrrr!
I was the first “cord cutter” before the term existed. I have never paid a cent for cable as I have not watched nor owned a TV in over 25 years. An iconoclast nonpareil.
If you have a cable modem, I highly recommend buying an Arris SB6190 Surfboard instead of renting the one that Comcast or your cable provider rents for $10/month. This modem has 32 tuners and can get you much better downloads than what the rental modem can provide. I am paying for 60 but realizeing 248 Mbps down and 12 Mbps up.
Naturally you NEED a WiFi router, which you can buy from Walmart. I suggest the 802.11AC at best, or the 802.11n if you are buying one.
I regret that I have but one cord to cut for my country
If you live in or near a larger city, DSL from the phone company should do. For example, on mine I can stream One America News on my big screen with barely a hiccup.
I've got a feeling they(others)are going to start to make up for cable cutting by charging up the wazoo for internet.
I also have the evil Mediacom!
Classic monopoly behavior, they don’t give a rat’s arse about anything.
If you know how to use a browser, you can set up Roku on the TV. Just grab the manual and let your fingers do the walking. The complicated VCR setup instructions of the past are long gone. The Roku setup really is simple. Just give it a try. You’ll be surprised how easy it was. Browsing Free Republic on a computer is more complicated.
Youtube and my stack of Stargate atlantis DVDs are close enough.
Here’s another annoying thing about Mediacom - I asked to cut down to just basic channels and due to their bundling policies they make it no cheaper!

All of the combining and reassigning of broadcast tv channels that’s been going on is aimed at freeing up space for over the air Wi-Fi. Cable systems will soon find themselves competing with that. So, I suspect any jacking-up of internet prices they do will be short-lived.
“did this maybe 10 years agowhat freedom and peace of mind. people who watch the ruling classes propaganda organs are influenced and controlled in many ways they dont even realize.”
I agree with this. I didn’t watch single a news show during the last election, and I never had so much fun!
Off topic maybe, but are there any set top boxes that allow you to surf the net like a regular browser?
My GoogleTV has a browser, but they haven’t updated it in years. It’s becoming less and less useful as time goes by.
If their contract’s coming up for renewal, put together a list of what you hate about them, gather up a few friends who agree, and go to the City Council meeting on the night the renewal is being heard. Ask to be heard when the item is called. Those are always pro-forma items because nobody ever shows up to protest, the shock of a group of locals threatening to derail their gravy train will definitely rattle their cage and may get some improvement.
A lot of this crap goes on because nobody complains to the people who actually have the power to fix it. A lawyer friend spent six months trying to get a Cox affiliate to stop sending bills to her deceased client. Dozens of phone calls, visits, Certified letters on attorney letterhead, nothing worked. They kept billing her, then started sending dunning letters. Finally, the lawyer discovered our city’s cable compliance officer. Two five minute phone calls, one to the city, one about fifteen minutes FROM Cox who were oh-so-sorry.
Interesting, thanks!
I have internet only through the cable company for $52 a month. Cut the cable four years ago and don’t miss it. Can’t remember the last time I’ve been to a movie.
