Police have dramatically changed their account of how the Las Vegas massacre began on Oct. 1, revealing Monday that the gunman shot a hotel security guard six minutes before opening fire on a country music concert raising new questions about why police werent able to pinpoint the gunmans location sooner.
Officials had previously said that gunman Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nev., shot Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos after Paddock had unleashed his deadly volley at the Route 91 Harvest festival, an assault that began at 10:05 p.m. and left 58 people dead, with hundreds more injured.
They had credited Campos, who was shot in the leg, with stopping the 10-minute assault on the concert crowd by turning the gunmans attention to the hotel hallway, where Campos was checking an alert for an open door in another guests room.
But Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said Monday that Paddock shot Campos before his mass shooting at 9:59 p.m. and they now dont know why Paddock stopped his attack on the crowd.

Someone else on FR mentioned that people that work there know the front desk doesn’t contact the police right away....so... I’m guessing after he reported that he had been shot he called someone close to him. Maybe the person that was yelling in the crowd?
I think most people after being severely hurt want to contact a loved one as soon as possible. Surely he had a cell phone on him.
They only call after the 201’st round is fired, so he was under the limit.
I honestly believe We The People NEVER get the straight dope on ANY of these situations.
I try to follow the money in most cases. *SHRUG*
Bttt!
IMHO, it gets weirder when the article starts to reference the FBI searching for piglets.

I don’t doubt that.
If you go back and study just about any major event, you will find many conflicts of details.
This doesn’t bother me like it does some folks who are always looking for another conspiracy.
I guess we can always believe the official media and government accounts of events. I have learned to disbelieve just about everything we are told, until it can be confirmed by other sources. If that constitutes a “conspiracy,” then so be it. I knew we were getting snowed about this shooting almost from the gate.
Please explain the major conspiracy, what lies were told and to what end they fed into ‘the great deceiving’, so that something could be achieved or avoided.
Thanks.
What was achieved?
What was avoided?
How about the OKC bombing. Far more persons were involved than just McVeigh and Nichols, yet they were the only ones convicted. An Iraqi by the name of Hussein al-Husseini was seen with McVeigh in the days leading up to the bombing, was spotted by eyewitnesses parking the Ryder truck in front of the entrance to the Murrah Bldg, and was seen by others fleeing from the scene just before the explosion. However, in order to maintain the “vast right-wing” conspiracy narrative, this and a host of other evidence was deliberately ignored by the government in prosecuting the case. Sounds pretty conspiratorial to me.
I too think we weren’t told the truth, and the justice system did not pursue all the criminals.
What bothers me, is when we go ape over something that isn’t warranted, we damage our ability to be heard on TWA800 and the OKC Bombing case.
We get dismissed out of hand.
TWA800, the OKC bombing, the Davidian murders, the Weaver case...
Folks need to come up with something regarding Las Vegas.
All the anomalies add up to nothing at this point.
I have been trying to figure out the same thing. When you read transcripts of LE radio traffic it is clear they responded to reports of shooting at the venue. It is also clear they have no idea where the shooter is and the transcripts take you through their process to figure out where the shooter is.
Different articles say that Campos and Schuck used their radios to report hallway shooting. Staff at the hotel should have known exactly where the shooter was.
I think the key question is when did the hotel staff call 911 or otherwise notify LVMPD there was a shooter in the hotel?
