Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced cofounder and CEO of The Weinstein Company, has been fired effective immediately, his board of directors said on Sunday.
The statement said:
“In light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days, the directors of The Weinstein Company – Robert Weinstein, Lance Maerov, Richard Koenigsberg and Tarak Ben Ammar – have determined, and have informed Harvey Weinstein, that his employment with The Weinstein Company is terminated, effective immediately.”
The company has been under intense pressure since The New York Times broke an investigative story on Thursday detailing three decades of sexual misconduct, including propositioning actresses and harrassing female employees. More ugly stories continued to dribble out over the weekend, including a vulgar report by a news anchor that Weinstein masturbated in front of her and other stories of inappropriate propositions.

When has the FBI ever solved a real crime like the Vegas shooting? Most of the time they swoop in to take credit from the work all the local police detectives have done already. You know, the men and women who actual work solving crime everyday.
Even the FBI forensic lab is a corrupt joke. You’d be better off sending evidence they collect to the Nevada state crime lab.

That’s why these guys get away with crap for so long, they are selective on who they prey and it’s usually powerless females, younger and looking for a gig.
Around others who had power to bring him down or at least pull some rank like a Streep, he most likely was very professional. Making it even worse for the other females who were attacked, or harassed.

I think Ashley Judd was institutionalized for a while, I forget what for, but yep, she has some issues. She seems to think every guy is out to sexually assault her, yet she said NOTHING about the guy who actually did: Harvey. I read last month she went ballistic because some TSA guy at the airport called her honey.
I’ve learned that the ludicrous is always possible this day in age.
Streep worked with young actresses who encountered Weinstein, Hollywood is a very small company town, there is no way that she didn’t know that he was assaulting these young actresses.
How did Streep get HER start, do you think that she is unfamiliar with the casting couch?
I doubt the younger actresses that worked with her talked to her about it. She could have heard rumors but if he never did it to her then maybe she just thought it was rumors.
Streep got her MFA from Yale. She wasn’t some Los Angeles hottie, she was a legit talent that started in theater in NYC doing Henry V, The Taming of the Shrew with Raúl Juliá, and Measure for Measure.
She was spotted by DeNiro in one of the NYC plays and he thought she would do well as his GF in The Deer Hunter.
The rest is history.

She has a daughters who is an actress, do you think that Harvey wasn’t spoken about?
Meryl was very successful early on, who knows how she got all of those roles, there are plenty of equally talented actresses who never made it.
Only Meryl knows what she knew.
She sounds like Germans in1945, who had no idea about the crematoriums.

I can’t stand her politics, but the reality is she’s older than Weinstein and was a huge success and an academy award winning actress when he and his brother were just starting Miramax. She’s only worked with him a few times in her 40 year career. I’m sure she heard some rumors but if he treated her well, and she never personally witnessed anything then why would she come out against someone her colleague before there were actual reports and evidence?
I get you all wanna nail all these liberal elites and their hypocrisy,but there is no evidence Streep in particular had evidence or saw something and keep quiet. Rumors are rumors.

Read her statement. She also says that if he was assaulting these women the media would have written about it.
Harvey tried to strong arm the media, the NY police, reporters, anyone who attempted to bring his actions out to the public.
15 years ago New York magazine did just that, and two years after the initial article came out about Weinstein there was another stating article in the same magazine.
I read them, the allegations wer eout there, there is no way she didn’t know.
The story must be immensely more sordid than even what we’ve heard. All those buddy-buddy pics with the Clintons and the Obamas...
That is what I was thinking. There must be definitely more here than meets the eye.
