In a television interview broadcast on Irelands Late Late Show, former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, opened up on the unfolding of events on election night 2016.
Promoting her campaign memoir, What Happened, Clinton described the night and its aftermath as painful and so terrible.
I would have to go lie down because it was so excruciating, she joked to interviewer Ryan Tubridy in a candid conversation, filmed near her home in Chappaqua, New York.
I was in a state of shock. I had not prepared a concession speech, the former presidential candidate revealed, explaining that whilst expecting a close result, her campaign remained confident of victory up until early election night returns began to suggest otherwise.

Whilst discussing the inauguration of President Trump, asked if she wanted to scream, Clinton told RTÉ, Oh, I did. But that was a common occurrence in those days. You know, scream into the pillow when I saw what was happening.
I would have been disappointed and really unhappy if I had lost to a normal Republican. But to lose to someone who I believed profoundly was not ready for the job, was temperamentally unqualified for the job was such a burden.
I just thought, Ive let everybody down, Ive let my country down, Ive let the world down. How did this happen? Clinton recalled.

A dying horse gets far far more empathy than this woman’s last pathetic dying words.......hard to believe she’s so thick as to not realize she’s a two time looser before, now and in the future.
Hillary’s last stop on her book tour will be an oval shaped rubber room!
‘if lost to a normal republican’...She must be talking about Jeb?
Yep...I play it because I love the perfect soundtrack they played and Trumps facial expressions as he walked across the stage.....I think the music even got to him! I remember the moment well it was a breathtaking victory moment in all of US history!
Hmmm. She only lost once, so what was she screaming into her pillow about on other occasions?
We saw many symptoms during her campaign.
But she is not taking this loss well at all. She is just dragging out the bitterness and reinforcing the notion that she is a loser. She is setting herself up for another big loss if she manages to run again. She is doing herself no favors by making this pity-me book signing and interview tour. It does not reflect nicely on her.
People like her have no real life outside the political spotlight. Her ego is getting in the way of making the wise decision to slink back into a private life and be a grandmother to her grandkids.
This will continue to eat at her and, at her age, she will start to slide downhill steadily from now on.
John McCain cried into his pillow the night he lost to Obama too.
And, I loved the music, too! Perfect! I wonder if Hillary could hear it over the sounds of her screaming into the pillow.
Thanks—enjoyed that—loved the ending-—cough,cough!
I seem to recall the day before the media reported that the fireworks had been cancelled at her event. I think they had information the day before that suggested problems with her chances.
Quite the revelation on election night, screwed twice ? Or am I reading into the “pillow biter” part ?
“Her tears were delicious, as were those of her followers.”
Ambrosia!
“her failure here will ultimately cause her death.”
If only.
“Worth a half billion dollars and yet she absolutely needed to be President”?
If she was in the White House, right now she would already be worth billions and she’d be on her way to becoming the wealthiest woman on earth.
Those hundreds of millions as Sec State were chump change.
Yes?
She knew she was stealing the election. She knew about the vote fraud. She knew the polls were all fake.
Despite it all, on some other level she really believed she was winning something. As a kid, if you ever cheated to win, say, a game you may have still been glad you won but you still had that part of you that knew it was not earned, wrong. She doesn't have even a whisper of that voice. Such a sociopath.
Doubt anything could ever be heard over Hillary’s self absorbed mind....she hears ONLY herself and those who agree with her...so that night she was most definatly hysterical..not that she lost...but that Trump won over her! This is why she’s still out there...has nothing to do with her book she’s using as a crutch to still be on stage. She’s still opposing Trump as what she sees as her rightful Presidency.
Too bad she hold it over her face a LOT tighter... and have one of her aides HOLD it there for about an hour..
Just sayin’....
Just like Slick Willie, she was running to get elected to stay out of jail. So when does the prosecution start?
“I just thought, Ive let everybody down, Ive let my country down, Ive let the world down. How did this happen?’ Clinton recalled.”
Oh. My. Gawd.
