WASHINGTON — Marilou Danley, the woman investigators hoped would provide key details into the motive behind her boyfriend's deadly shooting attack, said she remembers exhibiting symptoms such as lying in bed and moaning, according to two former FBI officials who have been briefed on the matter.
"She said he would lie in bed, just moaning and screaming, 'Oh my God,'" one of the former officials said.
The other former official said Danley spoke about Paddock displaying "mental health symptoms."
Investigators believe Stephen Paddock may have been in physical or mental anguish, the sources said.
But so far the FBI has not identified a clear motive, said two FBI officials. And they do not believe Paddock's mental health had deteriorated to a point that would have triggered him to commit such an act.

And what caused the mental anguish and pain that had him shouting in his sleep?
Just look at his face and how it changed over a rather short time from a sort of average guy to a saggy baggy bleary-eyed grey-faced basket case. I’m betting drugs (legal and/or illegal) and far too much alcohol. Addiction is a very harsh mistress. It affects your mind, your health, your body and mood. And ends up making. you crazy.
But why this particular kind of mass-murderer crazy? Did he have some handler pushing relentlessly? How exactly does ISIS get someone like this turned around?

I think this scenario is on the table, but not provable at this point.

Read somewhere he was planning to get away alive. So my guess is he panicked when he realized he was not going to get away, that they had found where he was.

Maybe he was planning more but guilt and remorse got to him...or the fear of extreme physical pain if he was shot fighting police and not taken out quickly with a single shot. Or fear of surviving being hit by police and waking to face the shame of what he did.

His life style, of wealth through real estate gave him enormous free time?

What was the escape plan?
What are the hotel videos showing?
What do his tax returns say?
What does his passport say?
What do his credit cards say?
What businesses sent what products to his address?
What does Amazon and Google say?
What does his cellphone say?
What does his computer say?
What did he watch on TV? What does Netflix say?
What books did he read?
What is the source of the violence?
