Congressional Democrats chose not to wait for all the facts to come in before immediately pushing for increased gun control measures following the Las Vegas shooting Sunday night that left 50 people dead and more than 400 injured.
Its not yet clear how the shooter, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, acquired his guns or if gun control measures could have prevented him from obtaining them, but leading Democrats are already demanding stricter gun control legislation.

Machine guns are already illegal.
Yup, the dems want more antigun laws when the shooter ignored the laws already on the books.
F NO.
As Scott Adams paraphrased the Left: it’s “give up your guns so we can shoot you.”
the sun could rise and the democrats would call for gun control!
Actually, they slandered Republicans and gun owners first, then they called for gun control.
The Las Vegas shooter had Muslim ties. His girlfriend was Indonesian.
Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world.
Muslims hate infidels.
The Koran ORDERS Muslims to kill infidels.
The Las Vegas shooter was just following his Koran.
ISIS names killer in Las Vegas
The solution is to declare Islam a terrorist cult and ban it from the west. If you want to practice Islam, you will have to go to an Islamic country or go to jail.
Terrorism is far from the most logical argument in favor of gun control. Inner city gang wars are more along those lines, but even then you have a problem of obtaining every last gang gun, including hidden ones.
“Yup, the dems want more antigun laws when the shooter ignored the laws already on the books”
Yeah, Feinstein has never gotten over GWB allowing her Ugly Gun Bill to lapse. My guess is that the Dem’s will attempt to resurrect the bill and also add silencers to it. The danger that we should be alert to is the GOP being desperate for passing tax legislation will cut a deal; gun legislation for tax legislation.
Not just ignored. He totally outsmarted the law enforcement in doing so. If the enforcement of your laws is ineffective, then the law becomes just about useless.
‘the sun could rise and the democrats would call for gun control!’
they should write a couple of novels; they could call them ‘The Sun Also Rises’ and ‘A Farewell to Arms’...
I think this type of liberal idiocy helps the cause of freedom more than it hurts. I mean, they are out there but they unmasked themselves for the slime that they are when they do this. Per the common response I am reading all over the place now, but likely started with a Freepers post to the evil represented by the left ; “You don’t get to shoot and murder us, then try to take away our guns”
Neah.
They just cost a fortune, require a background check and a tax stamp from the BATF, and have to be made before 1968.
Absolutely we should control who gets their hands on the kind of guns this guy used.
Oops. We already do.
I know that the mental defectives in our general assembly in Maryland will be chomping at the bit to “DO SOMETHING.”
I already put in a proposal to a member. I propose that that state mandate that all building over four stories be lowered to prevent this sort of high altitude carnage from ever occurring again.
Yet, the year SB281 went into effect, the murder rate (all causes) in Maryland was 362. The next year, with major gun control legislation, murders jumped to 538.
Doing something did something all right.
“The solution is to declare Islam a terrorist cult and ban it from the west.”
I’ve been saying that for years. Its hateful political ideology prevents it from meeting the Western definition of relegion. Islam and its adherents should be driven from Western society.
“Machine guns are already illegal”
They are legal federally with a proper license. However, each state has its own law. In most states they are also legal except for such states as illannoy (naturally).
Vegas is run by ‘Rats. I call for ‘Rat Control.
