Jason Chaffetz, former House of Representatives member and Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform was on Justice with Judge Janine Pirro Saturday night and he dropped a BOMBSHELL about Attorney General Jeff Sessions:
(snip)
Judge Janine: Ok, why is he not being charged with a crime?
Chaffetz: I can tell you that while I was in Congress and the Chairman of the Oversight Committee, I did go over and visit with Attorney General Sessions and it was one of the most frustrating discussions I had because whether it was the IRS, Fast and Furious, the email scandal that we went through, I did not see the Attorney General willing to just let Lady Justice administer justice and then follow through. I understood maybe the last six months of the Obama Administration
Judge Janine: Wait a minute I dont have that much time. You spoke with Sessions on IRS, Fast and Furious. Did he give you a reason? Did he say he was presenting anything to a grand jury? Yes or no?
Chaffetz: No, he basically let me know he wasnt going to pursue anything on the major cases.
Judge Janine: So IRS, on the major cases? Are we talking about Hillary Clinton, because I havent even gotten to her yet.
Chaffetz: Yes, the email scandal of Hillary Clinton. We had Bryan Pagliano. I issued a subpoena for him to appear before the Committee and he said No. He didnt even show up. We issued another subpoena. The US Marshals served it. And you know in my world, if youre in court, I guarantee you that a subpoena is not an optional activity. We wanted the Attorney General to prosecute him and he said No.

Except I don’t think for a minute any of them will skate.
I still believe there is a large scale, fully covert investigation of them at DOJ.
That’s precisely why I believe the part about Hillary, cuz Bannon specifically only mentioned her.
But it’z a reality when it comes to political capital. Only so much in a normal admin, & Trump has less cuz of the haters.
And shed his manhood like a snake sheds its skin. Posser
Exactly.
Trump is copying from Eisenhower. Ike let his cabinet take the heat as if they were setting policy. The press had convinced themselves that Ike wasn’t all that bright and that his appointees were running the show... sound familiar?
Fred Greenstein’s fascinating “The Hidden-Hand Presidency” describes how Eisenhower played the press for fools. They were little different then than they are today, they were arrogant and Ike took advantage of it. He encouraged their conceit that he was old and out of touch and mostly played golf, while behind the scenes he was as much in control as he had been as Supreme Allied Commander of the war in Europe.
I’ve thought since the primaries that Trump has been implementing the very same strategy that Greenstein describes Ike as using. His opponents fall for his calculated public image and he uses that to his great advantage.
OK I’ll bide my time for a while. I do understand focusing on the agenda and the mid terms. A couple more senators would be great.
To have what in essence is almost a mission statement, that no previous crimes will be investigated, sticks in a lot of craws, and leaves a bitter taste of serious injustice. Rule of man, not rule of law; too big to prosecute, etc.
Same here, corruption is corruption and to let these astounding levels of corruption go because we don't want the appearance of being a banana republic, is crazy.

No one said anything to the contrary. But firing Sessions brings more problems. That’s what you’re missing.
Not sure why he would make it up either.
It doesn’t promote a Leftist world view. It’s not necessarily a charge you want to make against someone on the right either.
If he was a Lefty, he could just remain silent.
Now that’s not to say he is one of our good guys, but I see no real axe to grind here. His comments just don’t serve either side, unless he’s actually doing Conservatism a solid.
Sure hope so.
I miss nothing. Don’t fire him. Order the investigation, over Jeff’s objections if necessary.
“Everybody be patient and calm down. Jeff is a shrewd riverboat gambler hiding his hand until the cases are ripe. And I am a liar on this one.”
What a boatload of crap the first part of your statement is! Thankfully, the second sentence is the operative one. The real truth is that Jeff Sessions signed on after bull$hitting Trump into thinking he was a comrade, when in reality, he’s the designated DOJ “hitter” for the “McConnell Wing” of the GOPe. I hope Sessions comes up with an inoperable brain tumor just like McCain and is gone from this Earth post haste! Put Jay Sekulow or Tom Fitton in as AG! Either one of them would “legally dynamite” all the creatures from the bottom of the “DC Swamp” and bring them to the “surface” so they can face being indicted, tried and sent to prison. Anyone who thinks Sessions is a winner, must have the IQ of a turnip.
Well, per your reply above, if Holder and some others get nailed, that should help a lot.
No, I think you are missing quite a lot. Who would investigate?
From “Lock-Her-Up!” “Lock-Her-Up!” “Lock-Her-Up!” to “That’s Okay!” “That’s Okay!” “That’s Okay!”
Not really; she was too clueless to recognize him. Here's the story:
Clinton says she mistook Chaffetz for Priebus at Trump's inauguration
I miss nothing. The probe would be carried out by any human being in doj so directed by trump. Trump has plenary authority over doj.
Would be like shocking Asian carp in the Illinois river wouldn’t it?
Jeff Sessions is a man of utmost integrity. Steve Bannon lauded the guy as his mentor in his speech for Moore in Alabama a few days ago.
FReepers need to forget about the prosecutions for a while. Much to get down in the meantime. Stick with the agenda.
Sessions will come through! Be patient.
Double amen ....... people here believe anything especially if sold as bad news
They think they pay attention and know evrything
That’s not the way it works. Just as in the military, you don’t bypass the chain of command because without the chain of command, the organization falls apart. You have to fore and replace the persons that are to be bypassed but the Senate controls who can be chosen to replace.
The only thing Trump can do is fire Sessions but that would leave a worse replacement in Rosenstein, and you’d have to fire him too.
Behind Rosenstein, there is no one who has been confirmed.
And McConnell allowed no recess appointments.
So the President has no one to direct except Sessions and Rosenstein, neither of which will investigate.
You are missing the fact that the Senate has to confirm. If there was no confirmation process, then yes, Trump would have a clear road ahead.
