I cannot for the life of me understand what Jones was doing. He appears to me to be ratifying the total lie that blacks are somehow oppressed with not a scintilla of evidence to support that lie. I watched the Anthem portion to feel good about the Cowboys but I ended up wanting to puke. My feelings of disgust were soon followed by a channel change forever.

Liberals have been able to steam roll over conservatives in the past. Call them racist, they usually back down. You would think they would have figured out when Trump was elected that we were through backing down but they just don’t understand what is going on.
I think the league is doubling down because they are more afraid of the consequences of making the liberals, especially blacks mad than they are of angering conservatives. They think they can walk a tightrope, supporting the black causes without losing too many conservative fans. I think that rope is twisting in the wind. They may find it a little tough to keep walking.
We have liberal snow bird neighbors from Massachusetts. When they left the Spring before the election they were going on and on about how wonderful Hillary was going to be as president. My husband told them Trump would be president when they came back in January and they both laughed at that. When they came back after the election they were both so angry they could not really carry on a civil conversation. When they left last Spring they said when they came back this winter Trump would likely already be impeached. My husband told them if the liberals tried to impeach Trump there would be another Civil War. The liberal wife seemed alarmed at the way he firmly stated it but the husband said oh no, there will never be another Civil War, never happen.
The liberals truly have no idea what is going on, and they are not catching on either.
I don’t think he needs to defuse this, he has nothing to back off from. The players were wrong for disrespecting this country, the owners are wrong for allowing it. He didn’t order them shot or arrested- he just said they should be fired. That clearl; wasn’t an order just his opinion, and one that is shared by many, many people.
They picked this to be a battle when they didn’t have to respond at all. They could have kept doing what they were doing. The owners were not firing those disrespecting the country so why the need for other players to “show solidarity” it is all BS.
I think it should just play out...this is but a small skirmish in taking back our country and I don’t think Trump should back off.
I say: “If they take a knee, give’em the FINGER!!”

The only kneeling team that won against a standing team was the New England Patriots, who beat the Houston Texans by three points in a game that had no business being that close.
In the NFL, winning matters.
Teams that tear themselves apart with this protest nonsense are having a hard time winning. What team owner would not want to be on the side that wins 92% of the time?

Not during Anthem, but according to the news they took the knee when the large flag was being carried onto the field. Guess that says it all where they stand with the flag and so many that have sacrificed their lives for US. Yea Arizona for the boos.
