Being from West Virginia, Rep. Manchin has had to push back against the coastal Democratic machine from time to time, but this round, the Dems may have gone too far and might be losing one of their Representatives to the Republican side.
Weve already seen that the Governor of West Virginia, Jim Justice, was willing to switch to the Republican side of the aisle, making his announcement at a Trump rally.
Now, its looking like Rep. Joe Manchin might do the same. Democrats have already lost the state, both in terms of their wide support for Trump and the loss of the Governorship to the Republicans.
Governor Justice has now endorsed Rep. Manchin for re-election in 2018. And with a Senate vote next week that might overturn ObamaCare, Joe will be put to the test. If Rep. Manchin added his vote to pass the Graham-Cassidy bill, he would instantly be lauded for his work in bringing that bit of Republican-promised legislation closer to the Presidents desk for approval.

Well, even as a democrat he’s way to the right of McStain and Susan Collins.
Manchin has an 80% leftist voting record. Does that answer your question ?
As soon as I saw the headline, I though Manchin. Manchin is up for reelection in a red state, and he’s too moderate to fit in with the leftwing of the party.
Once someone becomes a ‘traitor’ he becomes trustworthy to no one.
Please do it now and cancel out the odious John McCain’s vote.
He’s dead to West Virginians due to his immediate involvement in gun issues after becoming a senator. He’s been trying to suck a basketball though a garden hose since. His daughter jacked up the price on Epipens so he’s doubly dead. Becoming a Republican won’t fool mountaineers. Even liberals in the state want his head on a platter.
One has to admire the switch solely due to strategery. He went from beatable to almost unbeatable with a fairly obvious choice.
If Donnelly wasn't such a shithead mushmouth who has burned too many bridges he would be wise to consider the same, particularly if Bayh is serious about going back to the Senate (and he is).
Synicism is running very high today. The problem is a complete lack of ethics and morals. There was a day when you could accept these kinds of defections on legitimate grounds, but it isn’t so today.
Well stated..
However, I think some of the older ones may be cringing at Antifa and transgender bathrooms and on and on.
But what the heck do i know? :)
Let them switch then primary them out.
Same here and I expect one more Red State Senator to do the same next year!
Re: my earlier post: If he runs as a Democrat all it means is that like too many Democrats he’d rather do that than ph—k.
Bayh is interested in running against Donnelly? Hope not - any decent Rep should be able to beat Donnelly.
YOU'LL BE SORRRRRRRRRRY!
But I don't think he'll jump. He's a clone of Slick and IMO has eyes on 1600.
For all of you bitching and moaning about a dem switching sides...
Remember Reagan switched
He needs to do this now and be the decisive vote on health care, but I expect dithering and ankle showing instead.
Im suspicious of this...thats how Juan mcstain gets elected...dems vote for him, then he pushes the democrat agenda.
