If NFL fans in Los Angeles are excited about the Rams this year, they have a funny way of showing it. The L.A. Coliseum looked nearly empty for the team's home opener against the Colts on Sunday, and let's just say that everyone watching at home seemed to notice.
When the game kicked off, former Colts punter Pat McAfee was one of the first people to point out how empty the stadium looked.
Not even the lure of a $6 ticket was enough to get Rams fans to the game. That's right, all you needed was six dollars to attend Sunday's game, and even that wasn't enough to get fans through the doors...

kickball. third world sport. I understand that the nfl has jumped the shark, but that’s no reason to embrace the guatamalean national sport
— also the favorite of distracted millenials and uncoordinated teenagers in blue states all over our great nation.
The hurricanes had to have impacted national ratings. But outside Florida and Texas should have had no effect.
you mean the same New England Patriots that are headquartered in the people’s republic of massachusetts ? those guys?
Probably late in the game (photo). It was a blowout.
But the move made people feel good and that is what counts today.
If you look at the scoreboard, you’ll notice at the time the score was 0-0.
“Why spend six bucks on a game when you can go to church and watch people kneel for free?”
Good one.
Yep, Tom Brady and Bellichick aren’t having any of that. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s hell to pay for any player if it’s tried there.
Game started in England and then exported to the colonies and the backward folks living east of the Channel.
I played it 40 years and love the game. No other sport rewards blue collar work ethic more than soccer. It’s a simple game best played by clever people.
The irony is in the US, the people who are into soccer tend to be rich, whereas in England, it was the sport of the Working class, while rugby is the sport of the richer people.
“...just an unintelligent thing to say...”
Even the price is similar to 8th grade football. It costs $5 to see an 8th grade game here. Knoxville’s Neyland Stadium seats over 102,000. Bryant-Denny stadium seats 101,821 in little old Tuscaloosa. Sometimes even the PeeWee leagues play in some pretty big stadiums around here and it doesn’t look much worse than that Rams game.
In the large cities there is a large hispanic population. That’s who comes out for Futbol go to a match in LA sometime.
What will these America haters do next?
Atlanta United is getting great turnouts for their games in their first season in the MLS.
Love it. Get used to it, National Felons League!
I think there will be lots of empty seats at every Colts games this year.
My son is following the team 9n TJ Mexico. They won the championship of Mexico in the last few years. he is impressed by their organization. They do a lot of outreach with kids. SD is looking for someone in the stadium and a Mexican soccer team might be interesting.
Liga MX games are fun to watch. Much better quality than MLS games.
Is that TJ?
Somethings happening here.
What it is aint exactly clear...
