Bannon on 60 Minutes: I Hold Bush Admin ‘Geniuses’ in ‘Complete Contempt’
Breitbart.com ^ | 10 Sep 2017 | Tony Lee

Posted on 09/11/2017 5:12:24 AM PDT by Rockitz

Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon blasted the “geniuses” in former President George W. Bush’s administration for selling out American workers and getting the country stuck in the Middle East in a 60 Minutes interview with CBS anchor Charlie Rose.

Bannon took offense at establishment Republicans associated with the Bush administration who went out of their way to question President Donald Trump’s competence during the 2016 campaign even though nearly all of their “genius” ideas—like Paul Wolfowitz’s brand of nation-building and neoconservatism—turned out to be disastrous.

“I hold these people in contempt, total and complete contempt,” Bannon told Rose, adding that the former Bush administration officials get him riled up with anger like nothing else. “They’re idiots, and they’ve gotten us in this situation, and they question a good man like Donald Trump.”

Bannon blasted “the geniuses in the Bush administration that let China in the W.T.O.,” and reminded Rose that the “genius in the Bush administration told us, ‘Hey, they’re going to be a liberal democracy. They’re going to be free-market capitalism.’ The same geniuses that got us into Iraq.”

Bannon also denounced George W. Bush and “his entire national security apparatus,” which included people like Condi Rice, Brent Scowcroft, Colin Powell and Dick Cheney.

Consistent with the disdain he has always had for the bipartisan permanent political class in Washington’s “Boomtown,” Bannon also blasted “the Obama crowd,” which he said was “almost the same.”

“Clinton crowd, almost the same,” he continued. “It’s three administrations.”

I am slow: I only figured it out last year. I bet Trump did as well.

Our elections have been a constitutional sham. The Globalists have had both sides of the aisle since RR. They might prefer one candidate or the other, but they owned both, either way. So vote your little hearts out, American people. Play your little freedom game.

Well, we beat them this time and they are fighting for their life now, threatening ours daily.

If only Pres. Trump had been in charge, instead of the Ivy Leaguers whose response morphed into our endless failed attempt at nation building in the Muslim countries that hatched this evil attack.

***
Amen. But all of that “nation building” effort sure put a lot of DoD dollars in many Swamp bank accounts, didn’t it? There are many examples, but the one that comes to mind is the totally unused military building that was built in Iraq even though the military said they did not need it or want it.

Bush fooled us! The only thing I give him credit for is I think he may have been (be) a real Christian. His tears, his personal ministering to people..
Maybe that part was real about him.

How long was the Bannon interview before it was edited by network?

You are correct. There was little toleration for dissent back then. I hope people have woken up and learned.

We can’t fall in with personality cults any more on FR. Sure, we can pray for Trump and his family. But we are here to support President Trump’s AGENDA of returning to a constitutional Republic. It’s not about Trump. It’s about our Gd granted freedom from tyranny, period. (From what he says, Trump, appears to actually understand this.)

Bannon knows the Bushies working for McCain and taking orders from the lame duck Geo W Bush White House during the 08 campaign sabotaged Sarah Palin.

Palin used to always talk about how Steve Schmidt would have to “call headquarters” when she wanted to do something, and she never knew what “headquarters” really was...

Schmidt was getting marching orders from the lame duck Bush White House.

W actually HELPED Obama during the bailouts before the election, while his minions in McCain’s camp actively submarined Palin.

(Hey just remembered, some of W’s globalist friends like Soros pulled the trigger on the stock market nine years ago today, to the day... September 11, 2008. It’s a strange day. HW Bush made both his “New World Order” speeches on September 11 1990/1991. https://archive.org/details/GeorgeBushSr.NewWorldOrderLiveSpeechSept111991 And Benghazi happened on September 11, 2012. Odd.

Guess what people are saying is true... it all goes all back to Captain Morgan’s murder on September 11 1826.)

Anyway, Bannon directed The Undefeated about Palin; he knows how abominable the Bushes are; just so very odd that September 11 2008 stock crash destroyed McCain’s “the surge is working!” campaign that was polling way ahead of Obama that day because of Palin and McCain/Palin had to switch strategies because of the economic crash, while Bush was setting Obama up with Bernake and others...

Me, too.

The Bush family betrayal is worse than we will ever know in our lifetime.

I get so sick of conservatives who have sentimental feelings about W because of his September 11 speech. As I recall, he urged us all to “go shopping”...

The Bush clan is nothing but a cabal of internationalist neocons and in a better world they’d be kicked out of the country.

“The treachery of the Bush Family extends way back to the 70s with George H.W. Bush showing his true colors vis-a-vis Reagan. Nobody should be surprised. They are New England GOP-e to the core.”

I am most wonder if George HW Bush didn’t move out to Texas as part of a plant to subvert Texas nationality and to co-opt the power of the state to support the New England Republicans.

Expect Perino, Rove, and the rest of the Bushies on Fox News to blister Bannon’s behind in the next few days.

I used to think that GW Bush had a good first term and a disastrous second term. I thought in the first term he took the fight to the terrorists and gave us tax cuts, albeit with some distasteful left wing legislation thrown in (new prescription drug benefits and Ted Kennedy's education bill). And the second term was a mess because he decided the sole purpose of his presidency was to get amnesty for illegals, alienating himself from his own base in favor of his true globalist goals.

In time, I've moderated my views. I now see his first term as a disaster for America too. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq with no real plan for what to do when we won have been a real mess, and in fact there was no real need to go to war with Iraq in the first place. It was distraction. Once I learned from previously classified sources that were released to the public that the Bush admin was working overtime protecting the Saudis from their clear complicitness in 9/11, I determined that Iraq was just a distraction to keep us from looking their way.

And since then, his people have done nothing but praise the left and denigrate people like me at every possible opportunity. It's clear where they truly stand. I now have very little good to say about any of the Bushes or their acolytes.

You know how the inbreeding among Europe’s nobility resulted in a whole race of weak morons? The same thing has happened to America’s elites.

Well said. I did figure it out quite a while ago but this is a very succinct description.....unfortunately it will take many generations to 'drain the swamp' if it is even possible as Mr. Bannon has also correctly pointed out.
