The entire Florida Peninsula has begun to experience Hurricane Irma following landfall at Marco Island. Thousands of Floridians who evacuated the Atlantic cost to Gulf Coast areas found their safe shelter under direct threat from Hurricane Irma as the forecast shifted W Friday night and Saturday. Prayers for all in the storm path.

The storm has been blamed for more than 40 deaths, including six in Florida. - source
I have to say that you are right.
Thank you for your prayer. I found it as very kind and meaningful.
Being American means you are kind when appropriate and always help your fellow man when they need it.
Houston was stellar!!! Absolutely Stellar!!!!!!! Not the least bit surprised. Thank You.
Much.
Beautiful...
Thanks for the update Nutmeg (((((Hugs))))
Amen.
Very sorry to learn about the inland damage. Coastal vegitation is more adapted to wind due to consistent coastal breezes. Another tidbit—when planting a young tree, it is not advisable to stake the tree. Staking the tree inhibits the tree to adapt to prevailing winds.
Amen
We witnessed a little Divine Intervention

Why are you here?So many people are hurting.Start a new thread or something.
Those who downplay the event are either not there or had the great fortune to not have had the impact of the storm as bad as others.
Instead of blowing it off as if everyone else is in their same situation, they should either just shut the heck up or go and help out and thank God that they did’t get it any worse.
Unfortunately, I cannot do anything for your family but pray as I am way too far away from where you all are.
Thumbs up!
:-)
Actually, there have been a fair number of people on this forum diminishing that the hurricane was horrible.
The southernmost part of the state had an especially long and grueling time under hurricane conditions as the storm grazed Cuba and the slowed and pivoted to go north.
Glad to hear you’re ok!
:-)
Unreal......
I lived in Darien for 3 years (2011-14), and I know people there, in Brunswick and on St. Simons Island. How did they fare?
I suspect that anyone who persistently minimizes the suffering of others as you have done in this thread is a BS artist, and a cruel jacka$$. If you can find your tiny heart in your big chest, you will go find another sandbox to be a bully. Enough already.
I was at Keesler in 1983, and went to see Jefferson Davis’ house in Pass Christian, MS. Do I recall correctly that it was destroyed by Katrina?
Still no power at home. Just returned from a drive to charge phone a little and to recon. Melbourne and Beachside almost completely dark. Business district and some neighborhoods in Palm Bay/West Melbourne lit up and open for business. But tens of thousands without here tonight.
You go, girl....
