Miamis Republican mayor called on President Donald Trump and the head of the Environmental Protection Agency Friday to acknowledge that climate change is playing a role in the extreme weather that has slammed his city and the continental U.S. this summer.
Speaking from Miamis Emergency Operations Center in downtown, where the citys senior public safety and political authorities will ride out Category 4 Hurricane Irma this weekend, Mayor Tomás Regalado told the Miami Herald that he believes warming and rising seas are threatening South Floridas immediate and long-term future.
This is the time to talk about climate change. This is the time that the president and the EPA and whoever makes decisions needs to talk about climate change, said Regalado, who flew back to Miami from Argentina Friday morning to be in the city during the storm. If this isnt climate change, I dont know what is. This is a truly, truly poster child for what is to come.

Andrew ???
“If this isnt climate change, I dont know what is”
Exactly.
Yea the climate is about to change.
what is your point?
Climate change?
Oh, you mean WEATHER?????? You stupid moron.
1930s hurricanes in Florida made these look like pikers.
Explain Brain.
If HE is not an idiot, I don’t was is !!!
Hey mayor! It’s the sun stupid!!
If 12 years without a hurricane isn’t climate change, I don’t know what is!
Very simple answer: FOLLOW THE MONEY !!!
You got it!!
Stupid like that SHOULD hurt. Was the 1935 hurricane climate change, the Galveston storm, how about the unnamed ‘September storms’ that decimated the coasts before anyone kept records? Pre electricity what caused them-the use of FIRE? Maybe it isn’t too smart to build cities looking at oceans? This kind of thinking in political power-and in the NWS-is why I think weather today is less about science and more about politics and other agendas.
Yes, because huge hurricanes have never existed until the modern days. /sarcasm
The mayor is a moron.
At least the Mayor admitted he doesn’t know what climate change is.
Well, Ovomit was pResident for 8 of those years and he is solely responsible for making sure it didn't happen.
Conservatism needs serious political inroads to happen, asap, within as many cities as is possible, if conservatism is to succeed in defeating leftist politics!
If only the US had written great big checks to the UN, none of this would be happening.
Will he blame climate change when the weather turns nice again?
