Twenty five years ago, ahead of its time as usual, the city of Berkeley renamed Columbus Day as Indigenous Peoples Day.
Los Angeles, what took you so long?
(Excerpt) Read more at latimes.com ...
To be consistent the LA Times should get rid of all evil European influence. This would include a written language, the English language, the printing press, paper, and other non indigenous peoples technology.
Just think of all of the serious, day to day problems this solved!
Lol
Yes, but then they’d have to get rid of Marxism, too.
All of the Spanish names have to go, the Spanish conquistadors were bad Europeans.
Indigenous people were homophobic, so where does that leave them?
So what happens to the stores that put on Columbus day sales?
This country has gone insane. Without a Holy Spirit-led revival. . . .we are doomed. How much more chicanery can one take.
The only thing Leftists are consistent about is their enduring hatred for America, white people, the Constitution, capitalism and decency.
yea just ignore the history of the country, and lets ignore where the people came from which made this country a first world , great country through hard work., frigging idiots.
9 cities abolish Columbus Day in favor Indigenous Peoples Day
Today's Columbus Day - And I Observe and Celebrate It
Columbus Day myths and legends
On Columbus Day, Celebrate Western Civilization, And Not The Cruel Hoax of Multiculturalism
There shall be no honor or remembrance given to:
Christopher Columbus
Ferdinand Magellan
Leif Ericson
Sir Francis Drake
Ponce de Leon
Giovanni da Verrazzano
Sir John Hawkins
Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo
Jean Ribault
Vasco de Balboa
Henry Hudson
Hernando de Soto
Francisco Vasquez de Coronado
Amerigo Vespucci
Samuel de Champlain
Sir Walter Raleigh
Jacques Cartier
John Cabot
Hernando Cortes
etc. etc. etc.
And stop using Spanish, the language of the conquistadores
And cel phones and flush toilets, polio vaccine and cars and computers.
Yep - this is indeed a Sign of the Times - friend’s daughter informed me how Columbus was evil - that’s what was being taught in a nearby high school.
El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de Los Angeles. Gee is thag indigenous lingo?
Christopher Columbus would of never gotten to the New World had it not been for his benefactors, the Spaniards. Otherwise, he would of just been another Italian mariner drifting from port to port along the Mediterranean. Whose ancestors were the ones that brought death by warfare and disease in catastrophic numbers to the original inhabitants of the Americas? Hispanics in this country conveniently try to sweep their descendants under the proverbial rug, and they get upset when you mention their relation to them. The worst of the plundering explorers, Cortes and Pizzaro, did not hail from England or France, did they?
Los Angeles itself has to be renamed. It’s too religious, and a reminder of the evil Spanish.
Ditto for many other cities and towns in California.
The early Natives prior to the arrival of the Europeans were blood-thirsty savages. They committed violence against one another and against other tribes. This notion that they were benign peace-pipe smoking hippies is pure Disneyfied garbage.
