Henceforth in Los Angeles, there will be no day devoted solely to the achievements of Columbus, who was both the discoverer of the New World and the catalyst for the destruction of Native American people and their cultures in the centuries that followed.

To be consistent the LA Times should get rid of all evil European influence. This would include a written language, the English language, the printing press, paper, and other non indigenous peoples technology.

Yes, but then they’d have to get rid of Marxism, too.

All of the Spanish names have to go, the Spanish conquistadors were bad Europeans.

Indigenous people were homophobic, so where does that leave them?

This country has gone insane. Without a Holy Spirit-led revival. . . .we are doomed. How much more chicanery can one take.

It's a continuing development in the long-term Leftist Project contained in the old chant: Hey Hey, Ho Ho, Western Civ Has Got To Go.

The only thing Leftists are consistent about is their enduring hatred for America, white people, the Constitution, capitalism and decency.

Yep - this is indeed a Sign of the Times - friend’s daughter informed me how Columbus was evil - that’s what was being taught in a nearby high school.

Christopher Columbus would of never gotten to the New World had it not been for his benefactors, the Spaniards. Otherwise, he would of just been another Italian mariner drifting from port to port along the Mediterranean. Whose ancestors were the ones that brought death by warfare and disease in catastrophic numbers to the original inhabitants of the Americas? Hispanics in this country conveniently try to sweep their descendants under the proverbial rug, and they get upset when you mention their relation to them. The worst of the plundering explorers, Cortes and Pizzaro, did not hail from England or France, did they?

Los Angeles itself has to be renamed. It’s too religious, and a reminder of the evil Spanish.

Ditto for many other cities and towns in California.

The early Natives prior to the arrival of the Europeans were blood-thirsty savages. They committed violence against one another and against other tribes. This notion that they were benign peace-pipe smoking hippies is pure Disneyfied garbage.
