"If you take the $25 Billion in outbound remittances (2015), now $27 Billion (2017), and you apply a small 4% surcharge for each wire transfer to Mexico, that surcharge would net $1+ Billion/year.   Multiplied over ten years (budget requirement) that means $10 Billion into the U.S. treasury from the surcharge fee."

Western Union charges an $8 fee to wire any amount of money from San Diego to Tijuana. What a racket!

I hope this means Trump realizes Congress will Never fund the wall and is coming up with other ways to pay for it.

I am willing to bet the vast majority of that money has no taxes on it. It largely represents under the table wage payments for illegal workers. The rate should, therefore, be higher unless they can demonstrate that they paid income taxes.

Make it a cool 5% fee.

Makes it easy to figure out how much the revenue will be.

$27.0 billion, $1.35 billion...

$1.35 billion for ten years $13.5 billion.

Should be an even 10% fee.

Most of this money is made under the table. This represents the only taxation this money ever sees.

10% raises $2.5 billion/year.

Wall is paid for in 4 years.

This is the best plan of all. Make those working illegally in the U.S.
pay for the wall. It should be higher than 4%. Make it 8%.

this was always the plan on how to fund the wall this is how Mexico pays for it...

but it should also tell you about illegal immigration

25 billion a year transferred out of this country?...

that’s 25 billion generated inside this country but never plowed back into this country’s economy

how much more prosperous would our economy be if that 25 billion a year was being made by Americans and being pumped back into the local economies where this money was made

$27 billion out of our economy never to return never to create another American job - every year. Not including the udder costs.

Make that surcharge 10 or 15% and we can get the wall paid for in 5 years.

Can’t say I put too much trust in what “Sundance” has to say, but if Trump does manage to pay for even some of the wall by remittances it will be #megawinning.
