Recommendation? Need a Really Comfortable Travel Car, Think Sofa, With Wheels.
Recent car history Mazda MPV 1998 back when it was a great vehicle Xterra Golf TDi Jeep Sahara Unlimited
Now I need a travelin' car. I would keep the Jeep but it is too noisy.
Stopped in at a Volvo dealership and tried a s60, too stiff a ride for long trips and not comfortable seats.
Any recommendations for a really comfortable car? Just for me and perhaps one other passenger and our luggage?
I am thinking of a 2015 or 2016. All wheel drive would be nice. A little retro would be fine too.

I had a Chrysler Imperial some years back, with all the conceivable goodies you could want. Even self-adjusting air suspension. Oh, yeah. Every morning one end or the other was sitting flat on the ground!

I have two of them, I would part with one for the right change.
Call your caddy dealer and ask him to call you when they get a late ‘04 or ‘05 Cadillac deville 4 door sedan - very ‘sofa’ with very nice wheels and a trunk big enough for a kitchen sink. The Deville is a car born for the highway that absolutely hates being a city car and will tell you so with repair bills from sitting in traffic. They were $70K cars out the door, selling at 80-90% discount now. Good luck.

I had a 93’ STS and made plenty of road trips. Put 190k miles on that car and really wanted to keep the front seats.
I wanted to mount the seats with full power in my basement for a movie room.
People said it was like sitting on a sofa, I told them it was more like a “Barcalounger”
As a young lawyer, I worked for a state supreme court justice and often drove him to speaking engagements in his gray Chrysler Imperial. It was a land yacht that easily powered through night and bad weather, but it had one peculiarity: whenever the engine was turned off, a pinhole leak sent a few drops of oil onto the hot exhaust manifold, which resulted in ominous whisps of smoke coming from the engine compartment. Every now and then, a well-meaning bystander would point that out. The judge — who was quite a character — had a standard reply that he tossed off as he walked away: “Don’t worry. It’s insured.”
We have made numerous trips in our very well equipped Honda CRV. We own two, and yes, we would buy a third.
I have downsized in my old age. I have a 654 Suzuki single for recreation and a 280 Nighthawk for commuting to work. The best I had was a Euro-model 920 Virago (Euro=enclosed chain) that would outrun just about anything else that traveled and got 55 mpg doing it. It was Vetter faired and bags. I tweaked one valve and adjusted the chain once in 70k miles.

Town car and Continental are polar opposites.
Town car is a rear drive luxury car, while the continental is a front drive taxi cab like the Taurus, and needs constant attention in highway driving to stay in its lane.

We drive a 2001 Ford Expedition....its like riding in our leather recliners. I have short legs and love the gas & brake pedals can be moved.
Yeah. The salesguy told us if we wanted long distance comfort then the Outback was the better choice. Forester sure is fun to drive though.
